Vita North America 5th birthday today

I said it on Twitter, I'll say it here. Vita had two of my top ten games of 2016: Risk of Rain and Steins;Gate.

There's so much to be played on the handheld, I won't be retiring it any time soon.

Unless the Switch just becomes my de facto gaming machine.

Happy birthday to it, it did help make Gravity Rush happen. I'm glad the series moved to console though.

Who's more defensive about their failed console, Vita fans or Wii U fans?
What's there to be defensive about? The Wii U still gets daily use in my home and I use the Vita several times a week still.

Hell, the backlog on my Vita alone would be enough to get me through the year even if I decided to abandon the consoles (I won't).

Exactly how I feel and I posted something similar earlier. I have a backlog plus titles that I still want to get for both systems and both systems have supplied me with hours of content to enjoy. I don't think I've had a single console I have regretted getting so that's good for me. I usually good about getting a system when there is enough coming out and enough announced to get the system. It's why I'm getting a Switch.

does this work well?

Remote Play works very well. Action games are kind of awkward with the latency, but unless you're playing Bloodborne or Nioh you're probably good.

I also have Pro though, not sure if that makes a difference.

Happy Birthday Vita.

My brother gave me my vita for Christmas 2016 and I love it... Sad that I didn't get it sooner, but memory prices made me steer clear. It's a great system, and I'm having a blast with it.

Hopefully switch will fill the gap eventually.

I love my Vita, I've had it since launch day and I have 55 physical games for it with many more digital, best handheld ever.

I mean, Risk of Rain has been on Steam since 2013.

The real best Vita game in 2016 was Severed. What a fantastic game.

I think Vita has took over ps3 as the system that has grown the biggest backlog right now (40+ games) and I still have a lot to buy for it.

what a system

Best handheld ever designed and my favorite portable library since the Game Boy Color.

I don't use it as much now that I no longer commute to work but Dragon Quest Builders makes it still a fine machine worth playing to this day. I'll get Ys Origin on it in May and hopefully the big Japanese studios still have some projects in mind for it down the road.

Just finished Danganronpa THH on it yesterday and started Dragons Crown last night. I have so many Vita games in my backlog that it's making me consider holding off on buying a Switch right now.

Gio is about the only person at SCEA keeping this thing alive it seems :/ Thankfully we still have some over seas support with great Japanese titles! Long Live the Vita!

I've had it for 3+ years. I have well over 50 (digital + physical) games for it so far. Money well spent. Just wish it was given a chance to each its true potential.

Bought mine on day one and still have it. I don't think that has been the case with any other handheld. I would always end up selling, then rebuying. Best handheld of all time.

I would say I wasted £230. But the enjoyment I got from Steins;Gate, Persona 4, Virtua Tennis 4, remote play and a few other games was perhaps worth most of that.
