I was listening to the Cordkillers podcast this morning and the guest was asked what he had been watching recently. He said "Viva Amiga." Being an Amiga fan since the beginning, I was instantly interested. I looked into it. Apparently it was a Kickstarter project. It's a documentary chronicling the rise and fall and current state of the Amiga. I bought it on the Google Play Store and just finished watching it. It's very good. And, considering how little attention the Amiga tends to garner in discussions of the history of personal computers, I believe it was needed. Anyhoo... here's the link to the official site:

Awesome..i have to check that out. I loved my amiga (500). So dumb I sold it. I rebought anothwr for peanuts of craiglist here in the usa..but ut has no pau..and I never found one availabe. :/ I wonder if it even works anymore.. So then I just got the amiga emulator.lol

Amiga 500 was the only thing I gamed on until getting a 486 and PlayStation. So many good memories. All the public domain games, Amiga power, the hype around chaos engine and how awesome was speedball 2???
Only upgrade I ever needed for it was a massive 1mb ram card lol.

Will watch this later today.

The first Amiga game I ever saw running was Hybris, and the second was Shadow of the Beast.

Found an early EGM review of Hybris, I think this was the predecessor to Battle Squadron.

Really neat shmup for the time, and nearly arcade quality.

Atari ST for life. Fuck yo Amiga!

I actually spent a lot of time playing on my mates Amiga all them years back. Great fun. Shall give the documentary a watch!

That's great, I wasn't actually aware of this despite Amiga being my favourite platfrom of all time. Trailer looked good as well so I just purchased it.

Great timing to discover this as well as I've been in a Amiga kinda mood lately since I've been reading Commodore: The Amiga years book by Brian Bagnall. Doesn't look like it's available for non-backers yet, but I definitely recommend getting it and reading it whenever possible. It goes really indepth on the birth of Amiga and what was going on in Commodore at the time. Really really enjoyable read.

Atari ST was a really cool platform as well, had a mate with one one. I wouldn't have swapped my Amiga 500 for one but ST did have some strengths as well especially if you were into MIDI.
It was brilliant bang for buck as well, especially in pre-A500 days.. I did think most games looked and sounded superior on the Amiga though.

Bought but haven't had the time to watch yet.

Man.. loved my Amigas so much (A2000 and then an A3000).

The possibilities... of what could have been if Commodore hadn't mismanaged what they had so badly.

Just finished watching it, great little film. Was good to see people like Dave Haynie and RJ Mical in there... Haynie mentioned that Escom brought him and someone else over to Germany to discuss what they wanted to do with Amiga, but he doesn't say what it was they did want.

Other than that, I loved it. Amiga sure was an amazing machine.
