Viva Piñata - The Official Thread

Havent tamed the bonboon yet but read that about twingersnaps. Keep trying.

You may also think about putting the twingersnap some accesories that seem to give pinatas a boost in "defense". Dont know for sure if it works at all but there are some (like the hardness halo or a helmet) that by the description seem to help with that.

Btw, theres another new accesory pack, the 7th.

Tamed the Bonboon this morning. What I did was make a new garden and send my Twingersnaps there. After a few failed battles, I sent some Squazzels as well, I bred my Twingersnaps and got a Fourhead which then made short work of the Bonboon. Fourheads are freaking awesome, and HUGE.

Hello gents.

I know this has been asked & answered a thousand times by now, but I recently reached level 15 & all my Pinata started to fight each other.

I ended up selling everything & starting over, but everytime I have more than 5 different Pinatas they start fighting again.

What am I doing wrong?

Create other gardens. You have an option before going into your game 'New Garden' or 'Load Garden'. Several pinata species don't get along with each other, so unless you really love the fights it is best to seperate them via a fence (as long as they can't fly) or a good amount of water (as long as they can't swim), or just pack them in a crate by going to the post office and send it to yourself. If you choose to pack them in a crate, once you're in your other garden go back to the post office and unpack them.

Also, you have the same amount of money and unlocked items across all your garden's pretty much.

After seeing this thread still alive I decided to get back into VP. It's been a couple months since I've played, (stopped around level 25) and I'm addicted again. Question, I made a mine last night and after playing a while today it disappeared. Is there a time limit on these things? I didn't get the value out of it that it costs... is it worth it to build a mine? Do you have to put them in different places?

I think anywhere will do, and they last forever. As long as you have a diggerling you should be good.

Damn finally got unbanned..did you enjoy the present Tim? :P

Fourheads are amazing, I got yours not 5 minutes after successfully breeding my first and taming the Bonboon. Is there any Pinata or anything you're looking for? I'm to like level 43 now. :D

The only sour I have left to tame now is the Cocoadile.

Hmm well I'm lvl 53 already, and I'm trying to get all the pinata's on my own now, since just getting them kinda spoils the fun :P.

But thx anyway!

I can send you one of those if you have problems taming them.

Thanks for the offer but I finally got one late last night. I think it was well worth the wait, the Cocoadiles are awesome--one of the best sour->tame transitions in term of looks.

Damn Roario won't become a resident :(.

I had 5 doenuts and 5 zumbugs in the garden, then he ate 1 doenut and left ( because I didn't have 5 doenuts in my garden..lol ).

Then I bought soem more doenuts & zumbugs, so that he wouldn't leave. So he ate 2 zumbugs and 1 doenut, and then left. He came back a couple of days ago and now he has to eat them all over again!!!!

WTH am I doing wrong? :(

How do you know if the mine is making money for you? I've had it for a game week or so, and haven't noticed anything. (I have a digger and I see him going in and out)

The mine seems to "spit things out". I've never actually seen it happen, but I'll move near my mine and aside from the clumps of dirt, you'll see gems sometimes, and chocolate coins sometimes, and at one point
a dragonthing egg
. The annoying thing, is the part on your stats for the mine or the diggerling that says how much has been digged up never seems to update.

Are they EVER going to release a soundtrack to this? Ive been looking around and there is nothing.. pdz and kameo had soundtracks I think, but id really like to pick up vivas.

I hate to ask but could someone please send me a crocodile, Doenut & Swanana please.

I can pay you upto 10,000 chocolate coins.

My gamertag is: SpeedyManic.

Thank you.

:)

So is the "hearts-disapearing" bug a known bug? I've had it in one of my gardens. The hearts come and then they disapear.

In my other garden, everything's fine though.

It's not a bug afaik. It's when the garden is too crowded I think..

It's not a bug, it means the game is stopping you from crowding the garden.

Though I will say, pinata could use better management in terms of how much is allowed, things like flooring shouldn't take any space.

yup I agree with that, very annoying that flooring and fences take alot of space..

Ahh im going nuts over here, someone send me a Roario :P.

I'll pay or send you another Pinata :)

11,000 chocolate coins and he's yours. My gamertag is "a Master Ninja", send me an invite and state that you want a Roario in your message.

It's also annoying that once you sell/break a block of flooring, you can't put another piece of flooring there, for no apparent reason.

I can't, the spaces are red. I've even tried digging ponds then filling them back in, still red. I can place them in spots directly next to the ones where the blocks used to be, but not right where they were.

I guess it's a bug that lucky me got

Are you sure? What I'm trying to say is that I have just as many items (just as much space taken up) in both my gardens yet the hearts disapear in one and in the other they remain above my piñata's heads.

The hearts disapear when I have 75% of my garden filled up with objects/piñatas (in my first garden, like I said)

The game factors things roaming outside of the garden and other potentials as well, it's not a bug, or at least not one ive ever heard of. Everyone who has this problem has it fixed when clearing out the garden a bit.

Yes, its a pity. The soundtrack is fantastic.

I wouldnt say its a bug (though it may be). When you cant put blocks over a space, try using the shovel again over there to make the terrain flat.

Originally, I thought clearing out the garden works, but it was only until a short while later that I realized the disapearance of the hearts was somewhat spontaneous...

I haven't played the game in a while now. I need to get back to it.

Holy crap

This game is WAY better when you have more than one garden. I didn't know that your level/money carried over. It basically means you can have 2 or 3 times (or more) space. You can dedicate whole gardens to one or two species!!

After I did that, I progressed much faster, and went from doenuts being my best pinata to having roarios and chewnicorns in no time. The only one left that I want and don't have is the little googly eyed bastard. All the requirements are met but he hasn't become a resident yet..

I've just started getting into this game... now I have a huge-ass Pumpkin growing in my garden. I fertilized it three times and it's humongous. But it's been "growing" (because it doesn't actually grow in size) for 5 days now! Does this thing ever mature or what? Is there something I'm not doing?

Anything that grew before matured in much less time.

Is there anything nearby that would block it from reaching full size?

Hmmm seems like there's a small white flower through it, indeed. But I can't seem to be able to select it with the pumpkin in the way. :/

just started playing this game after having it for god knows how long. where did my day go? :lol i played from 10am till 7pm, time went so fast and its so addictive! so who wants to donate me some chocolate coins? :D

So...live is down and I decided to work on the rest of my Viva Piñata achievements. Oh god, Master Horticulurist is freaking brutal. 3 more plant species to go.

I'm getting my 360 back today and the first thing I'm going to do is pop in Viva and play a marathon session for 5 straight hours. I've almost got all 50 achievements, I only have the 50 hour achievement and the Master Horticulturist achievement left.

Well I only 5 have achievements left... 3 of them rely on the Swanna. I've tried everything to get that thing to visit my garden. I got 30% water, a Swan fountain, and enough sandwiches to feed Jared for a year.

Can someone please send me a swanna? I'll give you a chewnicorn, chippo, or eaglair for your troubles. My gamertag is same as name.

For the 50 hour achievement, does the game allow for your hours to spread over your multiple gardens or do you need to spend 50 hours in one, single garden?

Go to player stats and it will show you how many in-game days you have played. 50 real hours is equal to 280 in-game days.

If Rare could release some sort of decent expansion, new piñatas and items, maybe add some new features like online co-op or the ability to visit other people's gardens, and 250 new achievement points, my girlfriend and I would be all over it.

I just ordered Viva from newegg today :). I had rented it before and liked it and I had 25$credit at newegg.

I bought it for a grand total of $6.98.

I don't know why they haven't taken that opportunity. Obviously the hooks are there for more content. Even the "flower petal" menu system has lots of empty petals. IIRC, the back of the box says something like "share your adventures with your friends over xbox Live".
