They probably don't want to require the internet for more things than they absolutely have to, like fixing severe bugs and such. I'm sure by now they're well aware of the tradeoffs of having the data for all the pokemon in the game before they're officially ready.

There also appears to be a shit ton of dragon legendaries. Yeah I was actually surprised at the amount of type combinations that have yet to make it into these games. No Dark/Bug, Psychic/Electric, Normal/Ghost, Ghost/Psychic yet.

Legendary/Mythic Dragons makes sense at least. They're Dragons, the most stereotypical legendary/mythical things you can think of.

The other lacking type combos, not so much. Dark/Bug is pretty egregious now that I think of it.

They were pretty close too, but then they copped out with Drapion by dropping bug for Dark, instead of the other way around.

Stealth Rock is rarely an issue in the official format, however.

To be fair though, Mythical Pokemon such as Volcanion are banned in official formats anyways (barring free battle on battle spot. I wish they had a ladder for those metagames honestly). So I'd say Stealth Rock is a bigger concern for Volcanion than say, Articuno in this case (believe it or not, Sheer Cold Articuno is a stall team's worse nightmare in Battle Spot Singles lol)

Pokemon haven't looked good since Gen 3. The further Gens go the more they look like Digimon/Michael Bay Transformers.

Rotom is actually no longer ghost type in its alternate forms, but as a plus that does result in otherwise unseen Electric/Fire, Electric/Ice and Electric/Grass type combos.

I've heard "they're out of ideas" since 1999. They're not out of ideas. If they were recycling the same design over and over, that'd be indicative of being out of ideas.

What you guys mean is that you don't like the ideas they have. Doesn't mean they are out of ideas, just means the designs they have aren't liked by you.
