Vivendi Universal Games announced today the epic film that transcends generations and appeals to contemporary and urban audiences alike, Scarface, is now coming for the first time to game consoles worldwide. In a complex world filled with excess and greed, players can take the role of Tony Montana, one of the most ruthless gangsters ever depicted on film. Developed by Radical Games and published by Vivendi Universal Games, this third person action shooter is expected to ship Fall 2005.

Highly acclaimed screenwriter, David McKenna, has written an original event-driven storyline for the interactive game that will lead the player through a sordid underworld. The Scarface video game will create a gameplay environment that authentically recreates the historical time period of the film, touching on politics, news items and events of the day. Players will travel through the steamy, often violent streets of Miami, the irie islands of the Florida Keys, the Bahamas and various other locales and will interact with a world full of seedy and dangerous characters to procure information, negotiate business deals, smuggle contraband and avoid rivals and DEA on a mission to rebuild their fallen empire.

If I can't stick my face in a molehill sized heap of coke in order to temporarily increase my constitution to Rasputin-like levels and take everyone down in one lead-filled shootout then I'm not interested.

(I was going to post my disgust at the inevitable shambolic treatment one of films greatest properties would receive at the hands of the devs/publishers, but realised I stopped caring long ago. If it sucks I won't buy it, if it rocks I will, provided the condition above is met :p)

If I can't shoot down Frank Lopez or the Diaz brothers, or mow down a bunch of colombian henchmen in a volley of bullets & grenades I'm not interested.

I wonder if Manny will be in the game, gawking at titties every chance he gets.

vice city is enough scareface for me

Which is why this will bomb. It's like bullet time and Enter The Matrix. By the time ETM happened bullet time had been done to death in other games.

edit: do I win? :D
No, actually I think that's a much better joke.

I just got the DVD today. Haven't seen the movie in a while so I'll probably watch it tomorrow...
