Wii Sports is most enjoyable I found with a group a friends as a party game.
yah, maybe, there is no way around it anyway...but I hope for similar collections with good graphics and deeper gameplay

Online play would be nice and further more extensive use of the Mii's

I have no idea what the supply probelms are that Nintendo is experiencing. All I know is that if I go to a Brick and Mortar store or online website, there are no Wiis readily available. This isn't unlike the shortages that the 360 had last year... albeit Nintendo did produce slighty more Wiis in the same time frame.

Shortages are resolved but demand is still huge.

Almost every major retailer had it in stock and sold out quickly.

Supply > Demand right now, have seen some 200 stacked in the 3 retailers I visited (though it isnt avalable at amazon.de, quite stupid)

Live in Cologne, have been at Saturn, Media Markt and Pro Markt...it is not that there is no demand, I have seen some being sold, but the supply was huge

I live in Germany as well and I haven't even seen them on shelf anywhere.

I'm all for the fall of AniHawk! It's people like him that stops me from being the best person on this board.

I'll come up with a better reason when I have one.

Yeah, I got one. I only had to show up half an hour early to get it- 27 Wii's, 20-something people in line by the time they started selling them.

No they haven't. Demand is still high, but having your retailer recieve shipments of 20 units a week is NOT a "resolved shortage".

That's very surprising, there aren't Wii's anywhere in my region (Wiesbaden, Mainz) - get some of those 200 over here! :) The local TRU is still using pre-orders (sale contracts) to allocate their tiny and far-between shipments afaik. O_o

Well it's not like I'm lying. Are you jealous of my Wii success?
No not at all (they are readily available where I live*).

I'm just becoming old and jaded so the "I... !" posts without any proof are wearing thin on me.

* I have no proof of this statement.

I also live in cologne and one or two weeks ago neither saturn nor media markt had any (schildergasse). They probably just got restocked?

Obviously...It was yesterdy that I saw them and as I said I saw several being sold.

I honestly don't think Nintendo is underproducing the Wii at this point. While they may have during the holiday season; I think that now they can reasonably project the short-term demand for the Wii they will be manufacturing quite a bit more than they had originally planned.

1 million a month is certainly impressive. If demand keeps pace the rest of the year that would put Nintendo at 16 million Wiis shipped in one year. Which would be incredible IMO.

I really have been taken by surprise at the amount of success the Wii is having this early in its lifetime. People all over my social circle are buzzing about it, most of who aren't your typical gamers. If the interest in my social circle is anything to go by, the word of mouth hype surrounding the Wii is very positive.

Of course most of the positive buzz has been generated by Wii Sports (genius move by Nintendo to pack it in), so IMO the rest of the industry needs to take note and hop on the bandwagon ASAP. EA especially could make a lot of money if they simplify the interface of their sports games and make them as accessible as they possibly can.

OMG it just hit me how huge Wii Fitness is going to be here in the States. I wonder when Nintendo is going to release it?

At least until demand wears off. Eventually, you WILL be able to find a Wii in stores

Hmmm I know I should probably make another topic, but what do you guys think Nintendo is going to go with the Wii SKU this coming holiday season?

My guess is they will launch a Black Wii with Wii Fitness packed in with the price staying at $250. They will probably also release a Wii SKU with no pack in and drop the price to $224.99 so they can sell Wii Sports, Fitness, and whatever else as separately packaged games at $39.99. What do you guys think is in the planning stages?

If they are readily available where you live, I would highly recommend buying as many as possible and selling them on ebay. Easy money.

Good. Although I prefer my 360, I also enjoy my Wii very very much. If they can add an update to give us an option to play Wii Sports online with friends, that would be perfect.

Whoa! I'm American, but I grew up in Wuerzburg! It's a beautiful city. Well, technically, I lived in Gerbrunn, near the University.

Leighton Barracks are in Gerbrunn.. and legally its america:lol :lol :lol

Gerbrunn is connected to wuerzburg so its actually considered as a part of wuerzburg.. (legally its another village)

yeah wuerzburg is beautiful... i love this city and its my birthplace.. (im korean though, but i thank god that i can go to the univesity here cuz korean universities suck)

Actually, I didn't live in the barracks. My father works for the government, but isn't in the army, so we didn't get the "privilege" of living on base. We rented a nice house on Allesgrundweg.

WĂĽrzburg's my birthplace as well, and I grew up in Gerbrunn and Eibelstadt later. My father used to work at the university. I don't really like WĂĽrzburg, though. I think it's quite ugly, except for stuff like the Residenz of course. I live in Erfurt these days. So, at least slightly on-topic: No Wiis in Erfurt as far as I can tell.

Anyway, the world really is small... :)

Compared to every city in America, Wuerzburg is beautiful.

I actually lived In Augsburg for four years before we moved to Wuerzburg. Augsburg is really amazing. I was there in 1986 when the city celebrated its 2000 year anniversary. Not many cities have reached that milestone.

it's 1:57pm , I just woke up, I guess my chances of getting one are gone

I will never stop sleeping in on week-ends, ever. I want a Wii delivered to my home while I sleep

promoting scalping on NeoGaf = nice friendly replies to your post in the future

can't beleive people are still lining up for these. I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and like 35 people were in line at 11:00pm. Not sure if all of them ended up getting one. You'd think these people would have gotten one by now. They must be the people who were at the end of the llines in November

Damn shortages.

They have to stop shipping to South America.

It costs around U$D 1100 here in Brazil, damn taxes.

I'm not poor, but this is too much for me.

If only Nintendo would ramp up production for extra controllers. Arrrgggghhh!!

I was at a Wal-Mart yesterday and they had about two dozen of the Wiimotes and nunchaku each. I was surprised. I didn't think anyone had them.
