Walmart Switch OLED PreOrders - Delay?

My order says expected delivery of 10/15??!! I pre ordered in July. Could that really be true? Anyone else in the same boat?

No surprise there honestly. Given how popular the Switch is, it'll be an even worse situation than the PS5/Xbox Series restocks.
Or the fact the scums of the internet bought a shit ton and want to resell it. ---- there needs to be an ID law or something in place to avoid this shit. Scums should not be able to buy more than two just for them to sell it on Ebay for $57,0000000!!

People are really desperate to spend money on things.
It's not so much desperation. But supply and demand, the upcoming holiday season, the popularity of the Switch and the semi conductor shortage makes it hard to procure one. I hate the fact we're in this situation.

Honestly surprised but I guess it's coming up to Christmas so the smart parents will be trying to get the gifts now.

Have a launch switch, and even with its old screen and worse battery I have no real reason to upgrade, primarily docked player though, could see why some people would really want an OLED screen.

I hate Nintendo's current hardware line up but I love their franchises …

Yeah I have a pre order at Best Buy and it says "no date" even though I got it the first second it showed up basically. Might have to play Metroid on my OG Switch ... :messenger_expressionless:

Yeah thats not true at all. THe pre orders were up for weeks still after the initial wave. This will not be sold out for a full year
They sold out quickly with minimal advertising and with OLED you get the word of mouth factor because people carry them around in public.

It will sell. Oh, will it sell.

I think Walmart had a larger allocation so they are taking longer to get to everyone. Their pre-orders were still available long after others sold out.

But GAF told me that it's underpowered shit, lol.
It's definitely not shit, but I don't think you can argue it's underpowered compared to the alternatives. I would have happily paid significantly more for a "Switch Pro", but it wasn't to be (yet).

I still want an OLED, but I still am upset Nintendo doesn't have a more powerful option, if for no other reason than playing the same games at a higher framerate and resolution.

Of course I agree. Increased clock speeds and/or memory bandwidth just to run its own first party games at stable fps is all I wanted. But saying that OLED Switch is not worth its money is other extreme.

It's worth it for me, but I play Switch a lot. I can see people thinking it isn't worth upgrading for $350, if they already own a Switch. Especially if you played docked a lot, as there is no difference then except a dedicated ethernet port.

I just walked into a GameStop in the mall. They had several of both colors. I picked up the white version.

Apparently, Nintendo has shipped a ton to stores that were not available for pre-order, quite unlike Sony and Microsoft with their next-gen consoles.

Received mine from Amazon today.

GameStop order delivers Monday, Target order delivers Tuesday. Both shipped a couple of days ago.
