luka said:You really should get the PC version of Colonies. Because it's a GFWL cross-play title as long as people still play the 360 version there will be a community. Besides that it's more optimized and runs noticeably smoother than the original version (at least on my machine).
The Coop-Demo was fantastic at this point. It was smooth for that what happen on the screen. But this is the Multiplayer you know, you cant have everything.Arpharmd B said:That's a real shame about the PS3 graphics.
I am no digital foundry expert, but the 360 version also looks sub-HD, although framerate and tearing are not issues with it.
Framework MT 2.0 tech is too much for the current gen systems. PC version should be off the chain.
Check under the large tower you can climb up, usually a batch of grenade types there.dorkimoe said:yeah starting with 4 grenades is a bad idea
i havent seen any of the special grenades yet. those frisbee ones were the shit
Lost Planet was always an acquired taste.Dai Kaiju said:Did ANYONE like this? :lol
I've got a theory that capcom wasn't particularly confident in the demo and that's why they did this early access BS. Perhaps they were testing the waters to see whether or not the impressions would be positive and use that to decide whether or not to release the demo for everyone. Devs know by now that a demo will make or break a game.
I mean...I'm most likely wrong, but that's what they would do if they were smart.

The last 3+ years of shooters just haven't been that kind to the mechanics of a game like this, I don't think.
Also goes to show just how out of touch Japanese developers are when it comes to 'western genres' like shooters.

In fact it was (still is?) free to play with a silver account for this very reason ( I went silver for close to a year when I was heavily into Colonies).
Comments like this puzzles me when you look at how slowly evolving western shooters are. It's not much of a different environment compared to early 2007. Gears 1 was already released. You already had several Call of Duty games, and they never changed the basic movement or shooting mechanics.cjelly said:Lost Planet was always an acquired taste.

I'm personally disappointed with the demo only because of how limited it is. One single map, and I have no idea where the weapons are, so I'm forced use the machine gun all the time, which isn't that fun. And most importantly, none of the really fun and unique modes from LP are in the demo. Post Grab is fun, but I require to know the map really well to truly enjoy that mode.Dai Kaiju said:Did ANYONE like this? :lol

I took "K4MWT-2W3R2-T3HHG-WXQHY-HTRP3". I signed up for this when I saw the thread but they said to come back for more codes later. I came back later and they said they were all gone. :lolJim said:I have like a zillion codes to give away (100 actually, 50 each platform), if anyone didn't get one yet. http://www.gaming-age.com/news/2010/4/3-4
So... here's a batch! First come, first serve.
If you didn't get one then basically visit http://www.twitter.com/GamingAge Follow and reply with "Lost Planet 2 demo" and the platform of choice, and we'll be sending them out later. Blah blah blah... more instructions here.
