Want an early-access code for the Lost Planet 2 multiplayer demo?

do-not-want-dog.jpg

It sucked.

Anyone have a spare 360 code? Trying to get one for a friend, thanks!

You really should get the PC version of Colonies. Because it's a GFWL cross-play title as long as people still play the 360 version there will be a community. Besides that it's more optimized and runs noticeably smoother than the original version (at least on my machine).

Yea tons of people still play colonies. Akrid mode alone makes colonies worth the purchase.

If anybody has an extra 360 code, my friend would greatly appreciate it. He has a weird love for LP.

That's a real shame about the PS3 graphics.

I am no digital foundry expert, but the 360 version also looks sub-HD, although framerate and tearing are not issues with it.

Framework MT 2.0 tech is too much for the current gen systems. PC version should be off the chain.
The Coop-Demo was fantastic at this point. It was smooth for that what happen on the screen. But this is the Multiplayer you know, you cant have everything.

Played one match yesterday and it felt like the prequel. i love it!

yeah starting with 4 grenades is a bad idea

i havent seen any of the special grenades yet. those frisbee ones were the shit

Check under the large tower you can climb up, usually a batch of grenade types there.

I think this demo has regular, dummy, disc, sticky and plasma, I have not seen the colonies grenade types yet like the energy and heavy explosives one.

Did ANYONE like this? :lol

I've got a theory that capcom wasn't particularly confident in the demo and that's why they did this early access BS. Perhaps they were testing the waters to see whether or not the impressions would be positive and use that to decide whether or not to release the demo for everyone. Devs know by now that a demo will make or break a game.

I mean...I'm most likely wrong, but that's what they would do if they were smart.

Lost Planet was always an acquired taste.

The last 3+ years of shooters just haven't been that kind to the mechanics of a game like this, I don't think.

Also goes to show just how out of touch Japanese developers are when it comes to 'western genres' like shooters.

Seeing that people still play Colonies (which I just bought by the way), shows that there clearly still is an audience for this

The problem is this particular demo was that is was shit all around. Poor map, extremely uneven visuals, poor netcode, absurd controls (seriously, like someone else said, like 8 presets and not one lets you shoot with R1)
Only thing the demo did kinda convince me to try is the "fixed" camera option more now. Was always a OG bounding box guy =)

*off to play colonies*

Don't get me wrong. I'm well aware of the LP aquired taste. I played post grap in colonies almost obsessively while my friends were asking me what the hell I saw in the game. Unfortunately, I can't play the new demo due to my 360 getting the RROD the day before it was released. I just keep seeing negative impressions from people who were just as in love with colonies multiplayer as I was and it's bringing me down :(

I dunno, for all the hate this is getting, I just sat down and had a rather enjoyable session. I sucked heavily, but the Lost Planet feel is obviously rather different to everything else out there and I appreciate the contrast between, say, what one gets from Warhawk and one receives from this.

I had come off a marathon session of Bad Company 2 when I first played this multiplayer demo and it was horrible as hell to adjust...but, it clicked with me just then and I'm excited for the game.

It is one of the few 360 games with PC-360 cross platform play.

In fact it was (still is?) free to play with a silver account for this very reason ( I went silver for close to a year when I was heavily into Colonies).

Holy fucking shit. I really hope LP2 follows this trend so I still have people to play with on pc...

Comments like this puzzles me when you look at how slowly evolving western shooters are. It's not much of a different environment compared to early 2007. Gears 1 was already released. You already had several Call of Duty games, and they never changed the basic movement or shooting mechanics.

I'm happy there are some developers who are willing to go against the norm. There's way too many generic shooters on the market already.

I'm personally disappointed with the demo only because of how limited it is. One single map, and I have no idea where the weapons are, so I'm forced use the machine gun all the time, which isn't that fun. And most importantly, none of the really fun and unique modes from LP are in the demo. Post Grab is fun, but I require to know the map really well to truly enjoy that mode.

Maybe if I spend hours on the demo and fully learn the map I'd enjoy it more, but I'm not really motivated to do that since I'm forced to play the same map and the same 2 modes (one of them I don't even like).

Gameplay wise it's super similar to LP1 which I liked, so I'm sure the multiplayer in the full game will be a blast. I'm mostly looking forward to the coop though. And Snow Bunny.

Snow Bunny better be in the game >:(

I wish there was a run feature. Is that too much to ask?
Hold B (circle on PS3).

Or be a man and use the grappling hook to travel around faster (press it again midair to cancel the grapple zip before you hit an obstacle, even faster that way).

I have like a zillion codes to give away (100 actually, 50 each platform), if anyone didn't get one yet. http://www.gaming-age.com/news/2010/4/3-4

If you didn't get one then basically visit http://www.twitter.com/GamingAge Follow and reply with "Lost Planet 2 demo" and the platform of choice, and we'll be sending them out later. Blah blah blah... more instructions here.

I took "K4MWT-2W3R2-T3HHG-WXQHY-HTRP3". I signed up for this when I saw the thread but they said to come back for more codes later. I came back later and they said they were all gone. :lol

Thought I missed my chance, so thanks!

How is it that everyone's fucking raving about Capcom getting the western market when these motherfuckers can't even get the PS3 controls right?

Goddamn it

Capcom gots multiple divisions internally. Team that did Lost Planet isn't the same one who did, say DMC4 or Resident Evil 5...

Played on 360. Either its too dead at times or the gameplay is more flat and broken than the first.

Do not want.

Is the 360 map the same as the PS3? I find it weird that the PS3 version is 368 mb and the 360 if 536mb.

Got the demo, Really enjoyed it. It is basically more Lost Planet and I'm always down for that. I played LP and Colonies. It ran fine on my 360 so I'm not seeing many of the complaints on tech come from. Played fine too.

Allot of the problems I'm seeing people complain about aren't really problems. Mastering the invincibility frame is part of the game.

Only few I can think of. I shouldn't have to start at the bottom of a ladder. I should be able to repel up to start.
Team explosions really need to go. I understand it is for fair play, but way too much fucking griefing is done by it.

And not really a problem, but I still would enjoy this game much more if I got grapple on the move, fall, etc.

Tried to go back and play colonies. Ugh..all anyone plays is akrid hunter. I hate that mode...

There were only a few lobbies up.

I wish they would fix the shooting when you turn around and try and run

I can't believe the didn't do anything about the "stay invincible during stand up animation" stuff.
The memories of rage, they're all coming back to me now.

This has been a let down, I will only rent this for some coop weekend fun. I really wish they would fix a lot of the annoyances from the first, but they seem to be proud of them. Doesn't make it strategic, it makes it annoying.

I should have known better than to get so excited for this.

I totally forgot about my twitter account. Since I grabbed a code here, here's a 360 code that I got:
