Though I liked Man of Steel.

Man of Steel did a lot of things right, and people tend to overlook them because of a few goofy moments. I think it was the best Superman movie, because he actually felt like a superhero rather than some douche in a goofy suit. Him and Zod fighting felt like two gods smashing the shit out of each other, rather than 2 guys holding back like pansies for reasons unknown to the audience. I think the general level of destruction in MoS was one of the things it did right to be honest.

bought a bunch of Superman: TAS episodes, Pak's Action Comics Vol 1 & Superman Rebirth #1

tired of these DC EU apologists, gonna enjoy an actual decent Superman during my work from home day 😎

Make sure to watch World's Finest from Superman TAS. Although be warned, it'll just make you more upset at the poorly conceived shitshow we ended up getting.

Im also in the boat of enjoying man of steel. Bvs was hot poo poo cakes, but man of steel was pretty good! I also dont understand the pure vitriol that some of you have for it here.

I went into it with low expectations and quite enjoyed it. It was a bit more mopey than I would have liked and there were a few other issues I took with it, but on the whole I liked it a fair amount. Certainly more than the general Gaf consensus, and BvS was a massive step backwards IMO with both characters portrayed as dumb meatheads.

It needs more levity, but yes - seeing Superman cut loose power wise was great.

MoS Superman costume isn't even the best DC EU Superman suit, let alone better than anything from the comics

most of the MCU suits, Deadpool, tons of stuff from recent comic runs (including the high-necked regal N52 Superman suit) are all way better than that randomly textured dour suit

Pick up Superman: American Alien.

that's on my radar but i'm not sure - is that young Clark being kind of a dick?

Each book is a different time, and most have a jump of a few years between books.

Hes not really a dick, other then the one when he is a teenager but nothing that seems too out of place for a teen.

The evidence is right there, the MoS suit, GOAT supet hero costume to ever, in pages or screens. You can't top that, and sure as hell you can't top that with fucking underwear on the outside.
Deadpool's outfit from the movie is just plain better. No out of place textures like the MoS suit, it's broken up in all the right places, and it closely follows his classic comic design.

Iron Man is best of all, if the suit counts.

One wish I have when it comes to the fight scenes is for Superman to pick up a few new moves. Buddy, that fly fast into an enemy with your fist up technique isn't working. When Supes doesn't have the power advantage he gets smacked around.

Mostly I'd like action scenes besides fighting.

have bruce wayne train him. that would be nice. all superman does is fly and punch, but then i guess that's all he really needs to do so far.

I think this is intended. Superman is just an average dude imbued with god like powers. He's never needed to learn to fight or any type of martial arts for that matter. Which is why he usually gets his ass handed to him when he loses them.

That'd be cool. Can't recall if any remnants of Krypton exist, but I dug the kryptonian martial arts in MoS if he could learn that. Lots of chop moves from Zod and Faora. Action scientist Jor-el also knew how to kick ass better than his son.

I like brawler superman.
Always liked how he fought in JL animated series. Would be weird to see him fighting using martial arts like Batman, or a warrior, like Wonder Woman.

So if its in development any word on the director yet?

Superman TAS should be watched in its entirety then move on to Justice League so you can appreciate the entire brainiac, luthor and darkseid arcs that go through both shows.

The Man Who Has Everything is the best Superman story ever told in justice league u. Its an amazing adaptation.

But a person close to the project told TheWrap that Superman is a top priority for the studio and getting the character right for audiences is of tantamount importance.

If this is true, then good. I like Cavill, and want him to have someone help him in the role. If it's Snyder again, my enthusiasm will be tempered. And please, no manic Lex; Eisenberg was one of the worst parts of BvS -- and that's saying a lot.
