Warner Unveils Lego Rock Band

Two things need to happen for this to make sense to me...

They need a Band set which makes the drums/guitar/mic look like they are made out of LEGOs

and they need to release Rock Band LEGO sets.

I actually like the LEGO games, but lulz.. talk about milking two franchises to death.

How so? This is one of the more unlikely Music Game releases to date. "Milking two franchises to death" implies that its yet another iteration of the same old thing, which this game looks to be absolutely anything but.

If Warner is publishing the game, does that mean everything is now cool again between Warner Music Group and Harmonix ?

I'm thinking that the two may be treated as separate entities. Sony's movie, game, and music groups function independently of each other. I would assume Warner and Universal are the same.

I don't think this is really milking assuming the core of the game is still the same. More songs is more songs. It's like claiming iTunes is milking.

I think the lego guys look better than the normal RB characters. If DLC is pooled into Lego RB too, I might just changeover from RB2.

Yes, it is. At least Guitar Hero spin-offs are music related. This doesn't even make sense.

How is it not music related? You're playing music. Legos have been licensed to all kinds of entertainment. I think this happens to be pretty cool precisely because it's never been done before. It's crazy, yes, but it looks adorable and fun. It's not like the two brands don't work together. The screenshots show that obviously they totally do.

It's just a skin. It's not a bad thing; the only bad thing about it is the potential tracklist.
I await the trolling when there's Spongebob, Bob the Builder, Franklin, Blues Clues, and Thomas the Train track list.

Good point, this is another Lego branded game. Most people look at how its a Rock Band milking but Traveleres tales should rename themselves to the Lego Factory.

Because it could sell to people that don't buy Rock Band 2.
So people who didn't buy Rock Band 2 are going to buy this.
Please, somebody kill those motherfuckers with fire.

THIS LEGO SHIT WENT TOO FAR.

Lego Batman vs the Beatles vs Star Wars Rock Band Spongebob edition. With bonus cow milking mini game and 3D glassies. Guest starring David Hasselhoff, Micheal Jackson and Winnie the Pooh dressed up as Mickey Mouse. Available on all current gaming platforms and dishwashers.

That's be DUPLO rock band.

/lego pedant.

Anyway, rock band has some of the least milking ever. It has less games out than Guitar hero so far. Why the hate? there are tons of games/franchises that get milked way more than rock band.

Some of you guys aren't those annoying ones that like to think they're cool because something is unpopular?

Rock band/GH are out on PS2 right? and there are PS2 emulators. Can't the models be ripped/hacked? Then fans could make anything they like.

Final Fantasy Rock band? LittleBigPlanet Guitar Hero?

rockband is the same damn game, now it's having an edition that isn't even music based

I just realized that EA isn't involved with this. I hadn't been aware until now that the Rock Band IP was owned by MTV (and Harmonix?), but I guess that makes sense.

I think a lot of people would disagree with you on that.

And just because something is milked less often doesn't mean it's any less disappointing when it happens.

I wonder if they'll have lego groupies?
i wonder if Crotch stuffing will be included considering you can just add pieces...
on an aside, Holy Fuck, how many licenses does this thing have to go through!

Fucking exclusive songs! I am absolutely not buying three Rock Band games this year. What happened to you, Harmonix? You used to be cool, man.

I'm totally buying the REO and Styx songs when I get home today.

Milking is such a retarded phrase with these games.

I like encores

BTW, if this is Warner with MTV, and not EA with MTV, does that affect the likelihood of having cross-compatible songs? Who owns the DLC?

MTV owns everything; EA just puts the stuff in stores for a quick buck.

Hearing a bunch of 20-somethings bitching about a children's music game is hilarious.:lol

Seriously, not every game is made with you in mind. Get over yourselves.
