I've been watching the new naruto shippuuden episodes, and I haven't watched the show in a long time(I skipped the 2 years of filler crap).

Was the show always this ****in slow paced? It's ****in ridiculous. I can't sit through one episode without skipping every other scene. I was waiting for these new non-filler episodes for the past 2 years, and now I can barely watch them.

I swear, a fight that should last no longer than 10 minutes takes about 3 ****in episodes.

This is almost as bad as the painfully long "5 minutes" in the Goku vs. Freeza fight.

nope, they started to really stretch the episodes and they totally ruin them, they are trying to avoid fillers, but instead are adding tons of unwanted crap to the parts that matter.

if you think this was bad, the next fight in the anime is going to take about 3 years to finish if its going at this pace.

ah, they are taking the LOST season 2 approach.

**** this show.

Good lord, they're still doing this shit? They just can't tell a frickin' story. I stopped watching at 129, but I should've stopped after the Naruto-Tsunade-Orochimaru-Old Guy battle with the giant frog and snake and stuff. Or maybe at episode 1. Seriously, the stories/characters are generally interesting. How do they **** it up so bad?

you should keep watching, 133 is the best episode.

after that its fine to stop...actually, you dont even need 130/131/132, just watch 133.

You stopped like 5 episodes before the end of the first part of the series. Episode 135 is basically the end of the part of the Naruto anime that has anything to do with anything. And 133 is the best fight in the series. So...yeah. Bad place to stop. You might as well finish it off.

Naruto Shippuuden, however, is mind-bogglingly slow. 19 episodes in there have been a few fights, but absolutely no payoff, and fairly minimal amounts of entertainment (the first 8 minutes or so of episode 1 were by far the best part of the new series).

Naruto sucked after part one canon ended. It got good with the last episode with the shinobi who had the Ocarina.

Shippuden sucks ass. Horrible production quality, I don't know what happened. There used to be good music, smart pacing and extras added to flesh out scenes from the manga. I loved how the jutsus look like crap now. Only Rasengan looks decent. Do a katon and it's not flames shooting fast with sounds it's like a bowling ball and everyone stand for 5 hours before dodging.

Now it's just "STARE" for 10 minutes straight.

Go watch Bleach. Much better especially episode 121 will blow you away at the quality. The manga slowed down in terms of "say something" but it picked up after this weeks chapter.

I still watch shippuden because I like Naruto but the animation team is a joke. The manga isn't so bad but it's like "Sharingan=god" every other chapter lately.

Kishimoto is probably crying right now.

To watch Naruto is to experience an abusive relationship. As it goes on you keep wanting to believe it still loves you, only for it to slap you to the floor repeatedly. You don't leave because you're occasionally given hope it can do better and things will work out, but they never really do. Eventually some people find their self-esteem and realize they can do better.

Yup. The manga is the only thing semi good about the series left.

that's so true! But, I haven't gotten to that last bit just yet. O_@

I think of it as the cheap slut that I know will give out every week, but I sure as hell ain't advertising the fact that I keep going back.

Yes, it always has. The comic was unbearably slow and the animated version of a popular comic always slows things down even further. It's one thing when nothing happens in 20-25 pages that takes a handful of minutes to read, it's quite another when that happens in 25 minutes. What a snoozer.

p.s. Watch One Piece.

The pace is killing for sure. It wasn't allways like this though, it used to be good.
I always remind people of the multiple episode Orochimaru-Sarutobi face off of death. I mean, the old man had a sword in him for how many episodes? :lol

Just listen to this man and watch One Piece, it's about a hundred times better than naruto.
(Although right now because of some really lame production shit after around episode 275 it has gone kind of bad but still a lot better than freakin' naruto.)

True, but it was engaging somewhat, with all the shit happening.

to be fair, atleast durring that fight, most of what they were showing was other fights going on with. Now they stop showing one boing standoff to show another boring standoff.

Don't you mean 124?

124 would be the
Druken Lee vs Kimimaro fight
, right? so no, I mean 133, the
fight between Sasuke and Naruto at the waterfall with amazing animation and a whole different vibe about it.

yes, pacing was always horrible, re watch the bridge building arc and wait for shit to happen.

Shippuden is the worst the series has been and the anime has been slow as hell at times. Flashbacks in the middle of sword swings, reaction shots from everyone in the universe, repeating everything *gets hit with shuriken "he hit him with his shuriken!" "He hit him with his shuriken?!" "... ... ... Yes! He hit him with his....SHURIKEN!" and dragged out "extra" footage. Shippuden tops all that off with more filler in between the actual story and horrible animation the likes of which we haven't seen out of a major series since Gundam Seed.

**** Shippuden and the horse it rode in on. >:|

Just don't bother with the Drum kingdom or the Alabasta arcs. They both take way too long. Drama =! tripping and losing your sandal.

If 133 is in fact the episode you name it as then this and the Rock Lee/Gara fight during the exams are the only two episodes worth watching. Everything else is total garbage
This really isn't an exaggeration
. The only thing that kept me watching was expectation of an awesome fight scene. Except for the two listed, they don't happen. Save yourself from any unnecessary exposure to Naruto's annoying character and just watch these two.

Yeeeeeeah, I'm never watching this anime. I find stuff like this and DBZ almost entirely pointless.

After what Bleach has become and my exposure to Naruto, I want to agree with you.

i don't know what you all are watching because i love naruto shippuuden. its taken on a form similar to crack. i need to have it every week or i die.

Yeah, I just got done watching all episodes thru 19. Shippuuden is the best, it has a lot more action.

I just don't find there to be anything of substance in stuff like this. It's a bunch of emo kids fighting eachother again and again. You could be spending your time watching something more worthwhile and with a little more intellectual merit.

Wow. Shippuuden is not nearly as bad as most posters here are making it out to be. It's not as good as the best Naruto arcs, but it's still pretty decent. I am hoping it will pick up the pace pretty soon. I remember the old series was also pretty mediocre for the first 20 episodes. It didn't get exciting until the Chuunin exams.

BTW, does anyone know when the Bleach fillers are supposed to end?

It also hasn't helped that Shippuden has been seriously plauged by two-week intervals between episodes since it began (like this week, again no new episode) because of scheduling conflicts. That only adds to the feeling of slow progression.

What? I thought Arabasta is pretty good and Drum is only like ten episodes and is pretty great and both arcs are very important to the plot.

But from what I remember, the Zabuza fight was awesome. All the 'fights' so far have been painfully slow.

Drum's only important in the sense that they pick up Chopper. Then you get the stupidest and most annoying collection of enemies ever put into any manga/anime. Alabasta always struck me as more of a diversion, and it takes forever to resolve. Action that goes nowhere (Luffy vs Crocodile) for multiple episodes (he takes a freaking nap in the middle of the fight!) is just as worthless as inaction that goes nowhere.

Shippuden is bad but it is not nearly as bad as Inuyasha. I stopped watching that crap show like three years ago.

Inuyasha is different. That show was pretty much episodic. However, it was the same as in NOTHING EVER HAPPENED.

When I was a kid, I watched DBZ, but looking back... There were 13 episodes of action stretched out 40 deep (or longer) every season. They just drag and drag. I understand that Naruto and Bleach are the same way. And i bet they are making hella shit ton of money scamming kids.

does anyone know if they plan on animating the gaiden arc? i waited 2 years just to see that and it never came...
