Was the June 2026 State of Play woke slop?

Now that we've seen all the games, what are your thoughts. God of War is the latest series to ditch its male protagonist in favour of a woman which is the biggest one so far.
 
I can't tell if this is parody or a serious question

It was okay but 20 minutes on one game is excessive. They must really feel like they need to prove people wrong about it.
 
I like women's butts so playing as a woman isn't woke.

That's all you see when you play as one. The butt.

Are we lobbying for more male buttocks?

New God of War looks boring.

Wolverine looks like a reskinned gory Spider-Man.

Almost everything else looked meh.

I genuinely think the best moment of the whole event was a new Stuntman game being announced which is pathetic given this was the big PS show of the year.

What an awful generation for gaming.

No Rest for the Wicked, Dune Awakening, and Runescape Dragonwilds are the three games that interested me the most. Probably because it's abundantly clear they're gameplay first.

Wolverine and God of Please Shut The Fuck Up are the big tentpole titles of the show, but they do nothing for me.

The "only on playstation " games looked a bit "meh" for sure. But ILL, Control resonant, Onimusha, Phantom Blade and Silent Hill Townfall all looked great.
Game of the show is definitly ILL for me.

It wasn't really woke so much as it was just garbage. Which is probably worse - even when they don't handicap themselves with the "woke slop", they still can't seem to produce a game that isn't trash.

wife of war is like the kind of meme you would make as a joke to mock the way sony keeps replacing male protags like Joel and Jin with women, but instead it's real lol

And yet the game is still considered woke.

For many years I didn't understand what the term "woke slop" meant, but now that I've seen the game Wolverine, I know. It's an age-restricted game for 10 year olds...
 
Other than Sony continuing on their quest to replace all their male characters with strong independent women, not really.

I've never understood this take.

Usually I'm more concentrating on what's happening rather than the characters butt. Do you need a female character to stop you from staring at men's butts?

It might be, but I've never liked it. I think one need Microsoft did something similar for Forza Horizon and it's just such a boring use of time in my opinion

I love when Sony constantly change stabilished male protagonists for female while using their brand name on purpose and some fellas think people have problem with women. It's the ultimate defense card.
