Was the PSP your first 'MP3 player?'

Holy shit, blast from the past. I had this exact player. I eventually moved onto using my PSP for MP3's and all my other media needs for awhile though.

I used my psp a ton as a media player. I remember downloading Salad Fingers videos from newgrounds and listening to the Silent Hill Experience UMD songs on it.

The GBA Play-Yan, an MP3 player cart you plugged into a GBA. This was my 1st, even went as far as to import it from Japan since it never sold here. Had it's own headphone jack for SP models too.

EDIT: already posted I see.

My first MP3 player was a USB stick with a headphone socket. Beat that.

It could hold about 15 songs in terrible quality and I somehow got through an entire bustrip from the Netherlands to Florence with it.

Sony Ericsson w800i, the first Walkman phone, and a 4gb memory card was the first portable video and music player for me. Such a good phone!!

nah it was a sandisk one looked like this but it was blue

Got a OG model zune in 2007 I think?
I was using that up until just recently when the zune marketplace was finally killed for good RIP.

Had one of the Diamond Rio 300 units.

The first MP3 player to be released in the US by a major manufacturer.

Had a whopping 32MB of storage and connected to a PC via parallel port. ;)

The original iPod pulled some design cues from it a few years later.

Nope. This thing was in 2007 or so (made by a company called Coby):

Went through like 3 of them (free warranty), then broke down and bought a iPod Touch which still works to this day. Piece of junk.

The iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation was my first MP3 player.

Got it since I was able to buy my own stuff with my first job in High School. One of the best even though it had no screen. It was built like a tank. Even survived when I accidentally took it in the pool.
