Watch Dogs: Wii U release on November 18. Any info?

there's a rectangular screen in the middle, two clickable analog sticks at either side, a d-pad on the left side and normal abxy buttons on the right side, and start and select buttons below those. at the top are two shoulder buttons and in the back, slightly down, are two trigger buttons. below the screen on the front are three buttons for power, tv, and home.

You missed the knob at the top that adjusts the sound.

Why does this exist? I was excited when Watch Dogs was first announced for the Wii U because of the potential gamepad functionality. Ubi did damn well in that aspect with ZombiU... And frankly I'd rather pay for $60 worth of ZombiU DLC then even play a Watch Dogs Wii U demo. What were they even thinking launching it anywhere in the vicinity of Smash 4? Everything about this situation is crummy.

It's hillarious that we're on launch day and all our efforts have culminated in being able to find one guy with a copy to ask questions about it.

One.
I know right. Whod have thunk the 1 guy that bought it would be on Gaf. Thats some seriously good luck.

looks about on par with AC4 on wii u which imo looked all right might grab this next year during an eshop sale will not buy this for 60 digitally.

So Ubisoft is ashamed of this? I agree advertising cost money and they don't want to spend on this, but come on, social medias aren't expensive...
This situation is beyond ridiculous.

I thought it was only about the money, but now I'm starting to think they might be ashamed of this thing... maybe it's bugged as hell. They even blocked the native screenshot capture tool. Are they afraid that we'll start sharing screenshots with weird graphical glitches on miiverse?

Ashamed? Nah. Not one bit.

They simply don't give a sh*t. Not one bit.

Why would they be ashamed?? I think it's not a good game, like not at all. But it is on par with their output of recent years except for the two Rayman games an the UbiArt games.

Shame doesn't play a huge role in western game making ;)

Oh man, this won't sell. I wonder if the numbers will ever be shown because it won't be pretty.

If I hadn't say that you would still be sprouting along without any hint of pic. At least you finally posted it even regardless of quality and I thank you for it.

fixed for politeness. :P

Aaahh..shoot I totally didn't ask for this, I would expect him to just his imagination for that. Thanks though.

They don't even speak about the game, why would say show sales numbers (which will be pretty ugly)
I believe we can at least count on this guy on MiiVerse. There seems to be water in the game.

Oh this is still coming? A friend with a WiiU who doesn't roam gaming sites frequently asked me a month ago if this would still come out and i said no, because i thought i remembered a GAF thread that it was cancelled. Whoops.

This is releasing as silent as Titanfall 360.

Edit: Msged him and he said he knows. He checked amazon.de two days ago and saw that it's getting released on the 20th. Hes excited.

I gave my kids my Wii U but there was a time I was so stoked for this lol.

Oddly enough, I'm much more excited for it now thanks to this thread.

Disappointed we still don't have any footage of the game. I know it's a long shot but it would be great if digital foundry did a face off with this port.

It makes sense IMO, anyone that will buy this on the Wii-U is likely aware of the launch. Fans of this genre would also own another system and may already own the game. Basically the pool of people who could be marketed to is so small it's not worth it.

You know that theory that once you go past the speed of light time starts flowing slower? Well, I guess there is a level of badness in games that, once crossed, makes our interest in buying them grow again.

That really shouldn't matter. Ultimately, they're trying to get people to pay for this. It could do well if they really tried to push it since people were genuinely excited about it the game and what they could do with it. Instead they squandered that and put out what could be a sub-par product. Even a little bit of effort and engagement could go a long way to get people excited about the product. If they didn't care, then why bother? I'll admit I'm annoyed by the whole thing since I was waiting for the Wii U version over the PS4. Even after it got delayed I was hoping they'd try to take that time and do something with it like Deus Ex HR Director's Cut. Instead they just phoned it in and didn't even really try. Sometimes I really hate the industry.

Edit: Lower resolution than the PS3? All of my wat...Why? The Wii U may not have a powerful processor, but its GPU is certainly stronger than the pooptard RSX...Maybe the 32MB eDRAM with slow 12.8GB/s main memory is the limit, especially as they are using some form of Antialiasing that probably takes some of that 32MB.

Games have a limited Marketing budget. In this case Ubi used all of their resources on the original launch this spring. And it has apparently payed off for them, as I rememeber Watch Dogs breking some kind of new IP launch record.
There are simply no resources left for the WiiU version.

Yeah sure... I mean in the usual Ubi way they'd need 3 Studio across the world in order to upload 5 screens or a teaser of the Wii U version. Makes sense.

Press home while playing, go to an image sharing website in the browser, should be able to upload it from there. Then post the URL of the uploaded pic. I guess imgur would be best.

EDIT:

WAIT. Did they block screenshots?! Oh man! ... Is that possible?

I believe Monster Hunter also blocks (or blocked, could have been changed in a patch) screenshots.

Why not use some of that $$$ from the record breaking launch then? Claiming that there's no money left in the bank is a lame excuse for sending this game to die.

This is the publisher that sent Assassins Creed Unity, the first next gen only installment in arguably their premier Ip in what almost amounts to a beta form out the door. Expecting them to do anything barring the minimum of getting this version of WDs that's several months late already out the door is essentially hoping for a snowstorm in the Sahara.

At least the latter is realistic.

My thread is still alive?

Oh I got really angry that the DLC was barebones, but now my morbid curiosity wants to get the game today.

I'm gonna check out GameStop near me on my lunch hour an see if there's any copies there. This will be a fun day!

I guess that depends on what you consider "doing well". They pushed Zombie U hard but that failed to reach 100k in sales IIRC. I'd bet that after releasing Zombie U, AC3, and Deus Ex, they realized that these types of games sell like shit on the Wii-U. So marketing isn't worth the money spent.

If even the smallest amount of marketing worked for the previous games, they surely would have done it for this release.

ZombiU clocked 600k around 14 months after launch, can't find the specific source but that's what google is telling me now.

Deus Ex wasn't Ubisoft.
