Watch_Dogs 360 Gameplay

That doesn't look terrible at all. Looks like a decent 360 title.
It looks like it's running horrible though and I do agree that it looks much worse than GTAV (which I think looks spectacular and runs really well considering.)

People played Crysis 2 and Saints Row 4 on consoles despite abysmal framerates.

average joe 360/Ps3 owners will be fine.

It's as much an artistic problem as it is a technical one. The combination of overblown lighting and flat, monotone textures results in the game looking like big blobs of desaturated colors.

Sister..mother.

Is this the daytime footage? I wouldn't take it as representative if it is. There's a noticeable capture issue and the brightness levels are all over the place.

What is amazing is that I hated this game before for all the 180 turns and downgrades, but watching the entire gameplay (part 2 only so far), I am convinced: the game actually plays well? And the story sounds okay as well. Certainly above "let us shoot everything that moves" level.

Pop-in yes, but lighting and textures...really??!

Okay, it get's affected somewhat, but you can still easily tell a pretty game from an ugly one by comparing youtube videos. Youtube quality isn't so terrible that it completely restricts your ability to tell when something looks nice or shit.

And even with youtube quality, you can tell that the lighting looks completely flat, and the textures aren't that great.

I expect early missions will be fun and well thought out before descending into the usual Ubi garbage.

It's bad enough that I'd confidently tell people to just hold off until you inevitably get a new console in the fall or the next year to really enjoy it.

It's just so flat looking.

Honestly, calling this ugly is a great exaggeration. It is binary thinking. There are plenty of ugly games on 360, Watch Dogs so far does not seem to be one of them. It looks okay. Not great, but not bad either. Especially considering its scope.

That might be true indeed. I have no idea. Still not going to buy this, but will check out some story recaps if it turns out to be good.

I'm surprised that it ended up being the same game on all platforms (if that has been confirmed).

I thought we'd be looking at a Splinter Cell Double Agent situation with the last gen versions being something different from the new console game. But the 360/PS3 keeps on kicking.

Still have the Wii U version pre-ordered just for curiosity's sake.

Looks absolutely bleedin' dreadful. Makes me wonder why they bothered releasing it on last-gen consoles at all when the graphics are that sub-par.

The graphics aren't that sub-par...this type of comments that just reeks as people being insecure about their latest new toy...

Looks like crap but I guess it was expected.

Is that the actual frame rate?

Probably, seeing how Ubi had no problem in releasing Far Cry 3 on the PS360 which run at 20-25fps and with 50% tearing on top of that I wouldn't be surprised if Watch Dogs runs this badly.

Wait, surely the frame-rate is an issue with the video and not the game. That's just too low a frame-rate. It's like that Spiderman 2 Xbox One Twitch stream which made the game seem much choppier than it actually was.

The frame-rate there is even lower than FC3 and it stays consistently low throughout.

Ok THIS feed is shocking, the capture is poor (and affecting the FPS) the contrast is too high and the entire feed looks crappy.

I agree you can tell a good game from an ugly one on YT, just not this one, I think it still looks very good for a last gen game, I am confused on what people expected from it really!

I guess maybe I've just forgotten how bad games look in general on the old gen consoles

Is it just captured badly? I mean the framerate can't be that bad right? That video makes it look hilariously bad btw, I don't know how you can honestly say it looks good based on that video. I'm willing to think he's using a shitty capture card or whatever, because goddamn.

His jacket actually looks fantastic, especially when under ambient lighting. It doesn't appear to be as good as GTA but it seems a step above a Xbox 1 game.

I wonder if they're going to be any Hannibal-inspired scores.

Fannables would be all over this if there were mod tools on then PC version.

Hahahhaha oh my god it looks fucking disgusting. This game should have really never been made for last gen if it can barely run on next gen.

Wait, where is your evidence that it can barely run on next-gen? Yeah sure last-gen doesn't look crash hot, but we just had a PS4 stream and it looked quite nice.

Of course it's no GTAV, but that was expected.
It doesn't look too bad, actually. *especially* with next gen versions not looking that much better than what's shown here :P

framerate however...

I saw some leaked ps3 gameplay and it actually looked pretty good, the rain was actual individual drops and you could see it hitting puddles. I feel this time ubisoft has mastered the ps3, so ps3 will be>360 (only slightly though). They basically reached parity with AC4 so that's a good sign that they know the inner workings of the ps3 very well now

So you link the same video as OP to prove to OP that the video he linked to must be a pirated copy or fucked up settings? :P

Can't you see the timestamp? if not check 12:40.

or did he just fast forward the video? lol.

From what I can see the graphics look pretty good for a 360 game. The framerate looks like a bit of an issue but not sure why people are acting shocked.

I think the graphics are fine. The real problem seems to be the mission design. That mission in the video looked dreadful.

Thread was about gameplay and every comment is about graphics lol. What were we expecting on last gen when Ubisoft are developing for many more platforms than Rockstar did, it's a valiant effort. As for the lighting, yes it's a bit washed out, but looks different from all other videos so maybe a capture issue limited/full rgb mismatch or something. We all know Xbox 360 has a custom gamma curve which saturates colours, so it's odd seeing a washed out game on 360.

I thought he was chasing that guy for overly long periods... And mission had cool story but was pretty bland, probably just because it's the start of the game, I hope.

Looks decent. It's on 10 year old hardware and I don't think anyone expected it to look as good as GTA.

I'm just glad I don't have to drop $400 to play it. If it sucks, I'm out 5 bucks.
