Watchmen Trailer

It was all a dream, Jon Osterman simply fell asleep when fixing Janey's watch.

But as he leaves the Gila Flat's test base he gets a cold shiver, and turns around to see a sandwich-board with the words "The End Is Nigh". And carrying that board is a scruffy red headed man.... Ooooooh!

:D

Well I'm guessing it won't be too long before someone grabs a copy and spills the details onto the web. I'm not feeling confident.... :(

Fuuuck, they got the Gunga Diner blimp in the sky! :D

I hope there is a second poster where they have the characters out of uniform, or as their older selves. Duality and all that shit, innit.

(And because I'm tired of seeing that same Nite-Owl pose on every. freaking. image)

What are the last two photos? The first one looks like the clockwork ninja nazi guy from Hellboy and the last one is... Ziggy Stardust and Mick Jagger?

Captain Axis? Not sure.

Looks liek Dennis from Always Sunny. :lol
OMG it does! :lol

Finally finished the book today, and rewatched the trailers. Can't wait, and I agree with those saying that they nailed the casting (in terms of looks) for all characters except Adrian Veidt.

What if... What if the new ending is just a fake to trick us out? What if -- when we see the movie, the ending turns out to be faithful?

That would be a mindfuck. Also, awesome. For me, it would instantly redeem the movie.

I just bought the watchmen book today to see what all the fuss is about. I don't like comics, but I'm into page 25 and it's pretty enjoyable.

The rumors have been that WB test screened a different ending to see what the fan reaction would be like when the spoilers eventually would hit the web. Snyder never flat out said that the Squid isn't in the movie.

Frankly, I never really expected Snyder to keep the original ending of the graphic novel. Often what works on the 'page doesn't work on the stage' and I think that mainstream audiences would have been baffled by the appearance of a
giant squid
coupled with th fact there just wasn't a way to properly incorporate the island subplot into the film's already sizeable running time.

I suspect this new ending might have more in common with The Dark Knight's ending rather than the original Watchmen's.

Yes he has.

I am having little problems with the people casted for this movie so far, but I do think that getting Danny Woodburn for the role of Big Figure is a tad too simple, a tad too easy... He doesn't look like his comic counterpart at all, except for the size maybe.

I was just looking through the thread and checking out everyone's Rorschach costumes. And, considering I was Rorschach last Halloween, I figure I might as well show off my costume.

EDIT: I gotta upload it to my photobucket again. I'll post it here once I'm done.

Should have been Michael Anderson. I figured that was a no brainer.

I don't have a link, but he's right; it's somewhere in this thread. Someone specifically asked Snyder in an interview if he had filmed 2 different endings for the film, and Snyder said they only filmed the one ending for the film. We'll see.

I know the interview. He never says 'No, the squid is not in the film'. He's very coy about it, and avoids the question with answers like 'It wasn't in the script I saw' which is a trick answer, seing that they re-wrote the entire script right before shooting.

Y'know, with all this talk about the squid, I always wondered why all these brilliant creative minds got together and basically made the thing like that. I mean, it's basically a giant earth animal. That's not THAT creative.

And plus, pretty much anything could have been attributed to Dr. Manhattan. He could create some squid monster just as easily as making nuclear explosions. I'm pretty sure that at some point in the novel he was considering going to some other galaxy and creating his own humans or something.

I don't really mind the overall concept of the proposed new ending.

But the novel has made it clear that Manhattan is on the US side of things.

Hate to bring up old complaints, but whilst reading through some Watchmen yesterday it suddenly struck me at what a big bloke Ozymandia really is. Some of the frames in the comic, not to mention the part where he is demonstrating his abilities on the TV charity event, really show him as having an imposing build. Looking at some of the stills a few pages back seem to show him as fellow who is a wee bit smaller...

Look at his little shoulders! He doesn't have the build to suggest that this is a man who is feared by all. Maybe he has a black belt in the "Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique" or something.

5 weeks to go, so I guess all will be made clear then.

It's only been a few days since the Fox thing was resolved and already we have a Wolverine type poster of everyone looking at the ground.

Next up Aslan to be staring at the ground.

Captain Axis, perhaps?
That's the only person I can think of. Did we ever actually see him in the comic, I don't remember.

New issue of Empire magazine:
Period-drama veteran Goode is perhaps the most controversial of all the Watchmen casting choices, but Snyder stands by his man. "Matthew's a handsome guy and he's big and tall and lean," says the director. "It was all part of him being the specimen of perfection. I wanted him to feel like this beautiful, ageless Aryan superman."

Goode - who's a journalist's dream and, by extension, a publicist's nightmare - is also aware of the controversy, but takes it all in stride. "I didn't cast it - I'd have been a fucking idiot not to take this," laughs the actor. "People say it's not believable I'd be able to
catch a bullet
- no, it's not! That's why it's a comic-book movie! Even Al Pacino can't
catch a fucking bullet
, I swear to God!"
Sorry, dude. Not buying it :p

Geek-rage doesn't seem to faze Matthew though :lol

There's a small glimpse of him in there. He wears a monacle but the uniform is the same.

Yes
When Hollis is getting beaten by the KT-Heads he has flashbacks to his better days, you see him flooring beating on his old enemes. Captain Axis is there in the background.

Incidentally, he look nothing like that :p He looks more like the Nazi general you fight in Bionic Commando Rearmed.....well.... its in the ballpark but he doesn't wear a big-ass gas mask.

16yr old Larie Juspeczyk? (difference in hairstyle, wonder if that's how they'll differentiate between the time periods for that character)

Oh Fucking SNAP at some of those pic at the Superherohype forums....:D
