Way Of The Hunter - Explanation Video

I know a lot of people aren't familiar with the concept of the affectation of vocal fry and they feel left out and in the cold when conversations about it pop up. If you'd like to know what it sounds like, the above video can help inform you. Listen for all the harsh creaking and rattling at the end of the narrator's words.

The great outdoors await in Way of the Hunter!

Become the owner of a hunting lodge nestled among gorgeous habitats teeming with wildlife. Discover true to life animals and handle various detailed and highly realistic weapons while you face the challenges of a struggling family business.

Way of the Hunter is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on August 16, 2022.

This seems like such a blatant copy of TheHunter: Call of the Wild, which I loved. Hope this is as good.

I would say the other way around, actually?

TheHunter series was started by Expansive Worlds, an expansion of Avalanche Studios, and that goes back to 2009.

Way of the Hunter is a new game studio but a lot of its crew was formerly of Cauldron and that's the company which made a lot of the Cabela's hunting games. Cauldron's first hunting game was in 2009 as well, but before they took it over (Cauldron also made SoF Payback and the 2004 Conan game and a bunch of other stuff, also did the Jurassic The Hunted dino-hunting game,) the Cabela's franchise in games dates back to at least 1998. You can actually see a lot of Way of the Hunter in their final Cabela's game, Cabela's Big Game Hunter: Pro Hunts for 360/PS3 in 2014.

(Incidentally, the new Way of the Hunter company is named Nine Rocks Games; Avalanche was formed after the collapse of a company called Rock Solid Games. I don't think there's a connection though? One is based in Slovakia and the other Sweden .)

From watching streams it seems a LOT slower than COTW which is easily a GOAT for me ive played all maps for hours and hours looking for Great Ones etc. Amazing game. Gonna try WoTH but I doubt it will be pull me away from COTW until there are some patches and maybe a few tweaks from what I've seen it looks pretty buggy and very hard to track anything

Loving it so far, tracking blood is kind of a pain sometimes with the sun spots looking the same, but otherwise excellent. A next gen only hunting game running at 120 fps, nice!

So what are your thoughts on this game compared to COTW?

I think I prefer it tbh. Its missing the rare fur/GO aspect which they may add later, but other than that I think it improves on everything really.

The animal movement and the way the herds can be managed is really cool.

You can shoot weaker genetic animals and improve the quality of your herd over time.

The maps are red dead levels or realism. Plemty of quests to do if you want.

There are a lot of bugs though. They are aware of the serious ones and working on fixes asap though.

On PS5: is anyone else getting a sound glitch where certain things (ie, the sound of the jeep) go silent? Despite rebooting, it continues…

Another glitch I've run into (on the same play session) was the objective wouldn't trigger to the next stage despite fulfilling the requirements. I even watched a how-to video…

Bought the game today and on my first play encountered these two issues.
