While nothing is officially confirmed yet. It seems WayFoward is sending Patricia back to school. Perhaps for Mighty Switch Force 3?

Yes please. If for nothing else than a new MSF soundtrack from Virt.

Was actually wondering when/if they'd make another a few nights ago!

I got HD and 2 during the eshop indie sale and beat them back to back and was craving a third one so this is exactly what I needed to hear.

And dem soundtracks!

That realization that Mighty Switch Force is almost 4 years old now (date of birth = MSF's original release on 3DS). Damn.

Sounds like it might be a prequel, but in any case, can't wait to see what it is, let alone get another amazing soundtrack.

Wait, she's a robot?

Also anybody remember Mighty Flip Champs and Mighty Milky Way for DSiWare? It appeared that the Mighty game series was to have each game be completely different with unique characters and gameplay?

You had to beat MSF2 to find that out :P

Really? Oh well.

I beat one around the time it launched and got Hyper Drive and 2 together on sale.

Started going through Hyper Drive but haven't really played games seriously in months aside from the occasional Mii Plaza and Splatoon.

I've been on the last levels of both Shovel Knight and Guacamelee for like four months now.

I welcome more MSF anyday. I think it would be cool if they could expand the game to more of a metroidvania style game but I'll gladly take a platformer as well.

I don't see people offended they haven't released their Shantae Kickstarter yet.

Maybe I should throw the Mighty 9 / shantae art crossover that they made with inafune when they were supporting each other !

Why would they be offended? They've been great about keeping people involved and up-to-date on where Half Genie Hero's at and there's no reason to think it's floundering. Hell, they launched that KS before the last Shantae game was even done.

WayForward consists of multiple teams.

Oh I see.

Wait no I don't.

Didn't stop Double Fine from being shat on.

And the Inafune games were not handled by the same guys either.

I mean I have nothing against WayForward (nor the other studios).

I just find it a bit hypocritical that the other studios that used kickstarter tend to get a lot of shit when announcing other games.

Wayforward also aren't asking people for more money for other projects (or the current one) when they haven't finished a project where they also asked people for money. That's part of the problem with the others; Taking advantage of the fanbase and fund mismanagement.

I guess that's a little hard to understand though.

Both Double Fine and Comcept didn't give the appearance that they are managing their Kickstarter funds well. I think that's the core of the discontent.

Yeah, Wayforward has only done the one KS so it's easier to cut them some slack compared to other groups that have done multiple KS while people were still upset about the first one.

More Mighty Switch Force means more Hooligan Sisters.

holy shit, that picture is mine! i edited it from some arts that were on the shantae kickstarter and edited them to be placed like that to scale better for a project i was doing. the art was done by some one else but the positioning was done by me.

weird seeing it here haha

You seem to be very mad but can't tell what you're actually mad at. If you'd prefer that people not criticize devs, why did you try to derail this thread with a pre-emptive troll of anti-KS people? If you'd prefer that people criticize WayForward, why even bring the other teams into it?

Also, Inafune's game got shit because his first shitty looking Kickstarter has looked like boiled ass every time they've showed it, they released a demo that almost no one liked, and they release 100 community updates a month filled with no-content fan art and contest garbage instead of releasing the game, not because the concept of having two teams is itself outrageous. Was that not obvious?

Probably because they constantly update people on the game's progress and released a demo of the game a few weeks back (Full disclosure, I backed the game) and have been working on multiple games since the project's funding, many of which have actually been released since.

On the announcement itself, I don't know what to expect. If it's a dating sim like many suspect it to be, i'm not sure the Mighty Switch Force! series by itself would be enough to carry that concept though it certainly would be an interesting departure from Wayforward's usual works. If it's another Mighty Switch Force! title, that would be great since the series has proven itself to be a good mix of platforming and puzzles.

Either way, we'll likely get another stellar Kaufman soundtrack so it's a win-win situation.

Don't forget that they started a SECOND crowd-funding campaign after the Kickstarter ended, started licensing the property out for bad anime and toys and started another Kickstarter for a new game that somehow was worse in every way than Mighty No. 9's Kickstarter. All before Mighty No. 9 showed signs of being released.

MSF needs more resources/time/budget. Love the games as they are, but they could be so much more. Would love to see Wayforward add bosses and such to the game. Game could use a cool world map and a bit more context, for example, instead of the list-dump of stages that the series (Mighty games, in particular) are known for. I understand they're supposed to be arcade-like, pick-up-and-play titles, but a more realized game, like something more along the lines of the production values/content they contribute to their Shantae titles would be nice.

Budget is always kinda a problem for WayForward.
Still. I remember Matt Bozon talking about making a high-octane action game starring Patty in an old interview. Would of been nice

edit:
We’re also considering another Patricia Wagon game too. I could see her moving in the direction of a high-octane action game. I’m wondering what players think about that?

It's like the third or so hit for Google image search.

Also holding back the announcement that Might No. 9 was getting delayed so it wouldn't hurt their new kickstarter.

Yeah, of all of their non-Shantae titles, even among the Mighty-series, MSF deserves the most attention/resources. As much as I enjoyed Flip Champs and Milky Way, MSF clearly has shown the most potential to become a more realized/full-featured game. I haven't done the research, but I'm guessing it's their best selling/most popular Mighty game, too?

That's probably true. You could easily see it expand into a more story driven action game or something.
With Patty being quite cybernetic. They could easily gave her any power she would need.

I have no numbers but... the other games were stuck on DSiware for most of their existence. So it's highly likely switch force sold the best
