We could've been playing FFXV right now...

Yall should enjoy the extra two months were you think the game is going to be great. Much more fun than the reality come November.

Exactly my point. It's such a vapid attempt at justification.

But let's not forget, Tabata's justification wasn't that "it will be better." It would have been better anyway, with a day 1 patch. His justification was holding it back so that even dirt poor folks living in 3rd world countries with no internet access would get the "day 1 patch version." How many people in that situation even own PS4s and XBones? It was such a disingenuous load of shit. He should have sucked it up and admitted that once again whoever was in charge of planning dropped the ball.

I have a feeling that the real reason for the delay was that Tabby and co. knew they could get a decent quality product WITH A DAY ONE patch out for 9/30, but the gold version that reviewers play would have some really noticeable flaws. So, to avoid reviews focusing on the graphical and tech problems, they delayed it to the point where the new gold version would have their original, done-by-9/30 patches. Better to have a delay and strong review scores, that's much more likely to lead to strong sales, especially given that the previous gold version (what reviewers would have played) was such a mess. The thing about users without internet getting the best experience really feels like bullshit.

I'm fine with this. Even if it's more of a marketing thing, it still gives them additional time for polish in the form of a day one patch (because obviously they're still going to have one, let's be honest with ourselves).

Honestly, I already expect another final delay. So is like wahtever. Way too many games releasing in the next 4 months

From NovaCrystallis:

"Starting today, Final Fantasy XV is content locked. That means no further changes will be made to it unless it’s absolutely necessary. Now the game is off to certification and in two months its new release date of November 29."

I think another delay is unlikely (but not impossible) at this point.

X, XI, XII and XIV were all great, if you disliked all of those games and wish that the brand was dead, I have a strong feeling that the series isn't for you.

Two of those were MMOs, so they don't really count. I played both for years, but loving either and saying you're a fan of the Final Fantasy series is absurd. 12 is an interesting world and battle system but nothing else of value, and 10 was FF13-0.

The series isn't for me any more, you're right.

Have you seen the massive improvements the game received between te GC master build (which is pretty much what you would be playing today) and the latest builds?

It's for the better, trust me.

Little comparison of the Duscae region over time. :)

I'm happy with delay. 2 months is long to wait, but it is also long enough to make the game better.

They're content locking... on the original release date?

Wasn't the delay just to "improve performance" and fix bugs...?

That LOD is such a dramatic change from what we know the PS4 is capable of that I legit don't believe that isn't Pro/dev footage.

If there's one thing Tabata never did: Lying/being misleading regarding the footage that they were showing to us. They were always candid about what they were showing to us and at what point the console versions were and what problems there still were. They also did never shy away to show us in some cases really shitty looking footage. FFXIII or Kingdom Hearts-style bullshots? There weren't any.
They specifically pointed out this was regular PS4 footage and not PS4 Pro footage and they specifically said they were going to fix the vegetation LOD and I actually do believe them. :)
