As for the US in the World Cup uhhh yeah there's no luck involved. We're getting creamed in at least 2 matches. Samoa is our only real shot at victory.

WE9 leagues were awesome. A lot of work, but a lot of fun too and a really great group of people considering that was the first GAF league of any sort for the game.
I will likely get the PS3 version unless the 360 version is markedly better. My brother only has a 360 as well, so that's another slight consideration--not as important as my love for the PS2/3 controllers for the series however.
I'm also going to try to import the Japanese version just to get an early taste of the game for once. Will probably double-dip as long as it's as good as I hope.
We're gonna need a Rugby World Cup thread soon...with Setanta now available in Canada I'll be able to watch a decent number of the games.
Why not? The gameplay is basically FIFA's only weakness. Presentation and option wise it rapes PES in the mouth. Full EPL license, full Champions League, proper World Cup, MLS (Toronto FC motherfucker). PES would instantly become irrelevant. Unless you're gonna try and make an argument that these things don't matter, in which case you might as well recommend Mario Strikers to me as another alternative.
I've only bought two FIFA games in my lifetime...'95 on the Genny (used) and 2001 on PC (also used). I've bought the last four WE games, so I think I've supported Konami pretty well despite an almost henious lack of meaningful progress made in the series during that span, the sort that would give a certain company endless ridicule if "EA Sports" had been on the cover.
This time out I'm buying both games...and we will see how things go. But I have no affinity to Konami, and I'm not gonna keep buying these games blindly if the improvements are only going to be marginal (or regress), while FIFA closes the gap.
And really, licensing Tottenham ahead of Arsenal is almost the last straw...it's just insulting. Maybe that's why I'm more anti-PES worshipping than usual.

PS3 here (mostly for the pad). WE9 league was a blast. Hopefully the console split won't be too bad.

That's because there hasn't really been any revolutionary improvements between two games, but when you go back and play PES2 or 3 and compare it to 5 or 6 you see that the difference is massive.
