It's pretty much has made me not want anything to do with the launch of the new consoles as I still have plenty of games I'm playing through on current gen.
I would highly advise any junior to stay away from Gaming for the entire month of November. It will be a battlefield.

Simple tip for Juniors:
1. OT >>>>> Gaming Side.
2. Stay out of Gaming Side until you are a Full Member. Its basically suicide otherwise.

If any Juniors live in NYC, GAF also serves as a social networking tool of sorts. Who knows? You guys might get the pleasure of meeting me at a GAF meet up in the future. FYI: the next meet up will be in December on my watch; I'm thinking about rolling with a Secret Santa theme because why not? Juniors are always welcome to come out to them assuming they're not banned by then.
As for advice from someone who's never been banned, think before you post. Especially in a thread with heated discussion and difference of opinions. My rule is lurk in 50% of threads, post in 49% of them and you won't get banned.

As someone who's lurked GAF for years before trying to register and eventually becoming approved, I've spent so much time here. I also think the rules are pretty clear cut:
Be a decent, respectful human being, and at the end of the day, remember - it's just a forum.

PS - Huge props for the gaf community as a whole for shaping my worldview as well as opening my horizons to awesome books/movies/music/games.
Oops! You got me man. It's been a long day. I meant to say 51% lurk/49% post rule. It always works wonders for me.The tales I've heard of people getting banned because they participated in a heated political discussion thread stayed fresh in the back of my mind.
The other thing that I like doing from time to time is looking at a banned member's post history to see how that person got banned and learn from it.

I guess the golden rule (for me anyway) would be always ask yourself as you're about to post, "Is the post I'm about to make really necessary?"
