Well, you people were wrong yet again. (Terranigma)

It's not any kind of sim thing that I remember. It's more like you make suggestions to people and/or do some item trading/fetch questing that allows them to improve as societies.
Their societies can burn for all I care.
Game's far from bad, but aside from the graphics nothing is really sticking out to me. What's really surprising is to me is all the hate Gaia is getting.
I just 'cured' the freak-bitch Frida with some ginseng and now I get to explore some castle tonight. Since, you know, I won't get to play Smash. :(

well, I think you have to do some of the sim stuff to either progress in the story or get some optional areas open. I can't remember which... all I remember is at some point I helped a guy invent the hamburger.

It's more like the "Italian" breadsticks at the Olive Garden. Tasty at first and you want a lot more, but progressively fewer and starting to get stale. Right now I feel like I'm in the middle of the constipation stage of this whole equation.

I, too, was disappointed by Terranigma. I liked the game a great deal, but it certainly wasn't the gem that some made it out to be. I actually had more fun with the initial towers than I did with the rest of the game. Everyone insisted that it was better than Seiken Densetsu III, but this is only true because Seiekn Densetsu III wasn't very good to begin with. For action/RPGs on the SNES, I'll stick with A Link to the Past and Secret of Mana.

I like it. I think the main reason it gets spread around as such an amazing game is because here in America you had to either import it (yeah right) or later emulate it. Then you could pretend to be cool with all your other nerdy friends talking about this amazing game you played during your summer in Milan or whatever lie you'd come up with. Also it looks really good.

Same thing with Tales of Phatasia, FF V, or DBZ:Hyper Fighting. Bragging rights.

You have to be kidding me.
The story of civilization, superior art design, the music, the sidequests... I played both games when I was 15.

Terranigma is top tier SNES RPG material.
Gaia isn't.

Don't compare RPG's if you didn't finish them both.
