I lol'd at the five star restaurant at three star prices comment. There isn't a single fast food chain alive that is a one start restaurant. Obviously he isn't referring to Michelin stars, but still even just on a scale, these guys are at the bottom of the barrel and will always be just that, along with rotten ronnies, taco bell, burger king etc. The only fast food restaurant that I can even begin to give some credit to is subway.

Yep... yep... yep... wait what the fuck? You went with Subway?

The new font feels pretty old to me, oddly enough. Looks very 70s. Not terrible, but not a huge fan of it.

Their meat is essentially tasteless and the bread is constantly moist even when they toast it. I can't even eat at Subway.. it's just gross.

The new Wendy spokesgirl is adorable.

But nah, Wendy's isn't some high end chain. They are average, maybe a quarter-step above McDonalds in terms of burger quality.

Truly, their spicy chicken sammy is the only edge they have on the competition.

Regarding the "higher end" thing, Wendy's does have something significant on the McDonald's and Burger Kings of this world: they do not freeze their beef patties before cooking them.

hahaha, this got me good. Nearly knocked my drink all over my desk

Well after probably being laughed at, they went from real Wendy to Hipster Wendy. I feel like putting an overweight middle aged woman charging the camera as she is saying "Huuunnngray" is not a great ad campaign. :|

Um, what's "hipster" about that actress? She looks pretty normal. Cute, healthy, normal. Such an overused term.

I hate young just out of college and full of vinegar Wendy. So fucking jazzed to go to Wendy's and make her friends drive her there no less. Get over yourself.

And how'd you like to be at the auditions for the new Wendy? There hasn't been that much red carpet in the same room since the set of The Price is Right.

Change the logo over to hot Wendy from the commercials, thanks

Buzz's girlfriend was a dude fyi.

Hey, I commend Buzz for not being a sale to typical gender role propaganda!

But yes, the actor who played Buzz also posed for the photo of Buzz's girlfriend. They decided that they didn't want to insult an actual girl in that scene, and hurt her feelings.

Also, I've got no problem with this logo change. Isn't anything super drastic, and doesn't get rid of Wendy.

For an easy comparison

Old logo font is better, but they probably feel it's "1800"-ish, which is why they're changing it, I guess.

The faces both have their pros and cons. So I'm mixed on either.

Wendy's will never be a "three star" burger place for me. They've always been a "two star"/dollar menu place for me.

Looks exceptionally plain and boring on a stark white background like that. But I suspect it'll look a lot better against other colors on the actual signs and branding.

Eh, I dunno, still looks pretty boring. The text needs some kind of secondary color for embellishment, and the background of the circle with Wendy should probably be filled in with a contrasting color to bring her out a bit more, rather than left plain white.

It's fine. Not extraordinary, but it sure as Hell beats the new Arby's logo.

I'll miss the old one, but I understand why they want to update it. The new one is infinitely more versatile than the old one.

Wendy's is ok. It seems like next to every Wendy's there is a Culvers and Culvers is going to win out every time.
Wish I could try them to gain some insight into that opinion. Shame the nearest Culver's is in Ohio. When I'm in Maryland.

But of the fast food I have quick access to - McDonald's, Burger King, Checker's, Five Guys, etc - I'd take Wendy's over them in a heartbeat. BK and Checker's have burgers that taste kind of eh, McDonald's is inoffensive enough but not really high on my list, Five Guys is okay but overpriced and tends to make me feel ill afterward... Wendy's doesn't have these problems to me.

Although their chicken sandwiches are terrible. Nuggets, fine. Burgers, great. Chicken sandwiches, too watery, not enough flavor.

Also, not a huge fan of the redesign. Does every logo in existence need a redesign these days? It's mildly annoying, and very rarely do I think the change is for the better.

I'm assuming you're not talking about Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich here.

Really? Subway before Jimmy John's? You're crazy.

The weird thing is I feel like this girl probably makes a better hamburger.

The image didn't make me laugh, but this did.

The only reason we have JJ's down here is because of Drew Brees. I was substantially unimpressed. Not saying it's worse than Subway, I'm just saying you don't bring fucking bland ass hoagies into a town with Po Boys and act like you've done us a favor.

Don't get your hopes up. Culver's is just regular burger-place schlock with cleaner tables. Their motto should be "If we can't fry it in butter, we'll DEEP FRY it in oil!". Never understood the love for the place, personally... reminds me of school cafeteria food.

I will give them credit on the milk shake selection, that's pretty impressive. Like 950 calories and 80g of sugar each, but that's exactly what you get milkshakes for...

The bread is baked fresh and the tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers are cut in-store. That's more than most places can say.

One thing I love about NJ is that we still have real sub shops, bread from a local bakery and the cold cuts sliced fresh. I can't imagine going to and have never eaten at a Subway.

Like the logo.

But my opinion of Wendy's has gone so far downhill in the past few years.

First off, chicken nuggets are a huge hit or miss. Sometimes they are soft and juicy and sometimes the freezerburn comes through. You are left with a dry, rock hard nugget.

Next, the value menu. Gone is the double. The Jr bacon cheeseburger (which is still $0.99 at some places) is now $1.99 at mine. Value fry is insulting compared to the other burger joints.

Combos are expensive. $8 for a jalapeno burger, regular fry, and drink? Nope.

I'm glad my wife likes In N Out, Fatburger and Five Guys as much as I do (oh gosh I just started the burger debate). There is no reason to go to Wendy's besides the frostys.

Part of the thing about food seeming expensive, is that a lot of is just inflation and our perceptions that combos were $5 a few years ago.

Compared to recent logo redesigns, it's not bad.
