What are some good Simple 2000 games?

THE KUNGFU! BOLO APPROVES! :lol

edit: The Kungfu is perhaps the worse ps2 game ever. You are this Jackie CHan clone where you run around using the two different attacks on immobile ennemies who randomly punch in front of them. It's absolutely terrible. You can run across whole level without even touching an ennemy and its ok :| You can get stuck in loops with the boss who will kick you over and over again. It's.. horrible

I thought there was supposed to be a couple of good ones--one with a pumpkinhead guy with a chainsaw, and one that had a schoolgirl with constant panty shots killing zombies with a katana.

Or maybe I'm mistaken.

"the double shienryu" is pretty good. it's got a port of shienryu -- a very solid mid-90s shooter that borrows heavily from raiden and truxton -- and a low-budget 2.5d sequel that's far too easy but plays reasonably well and has an interesting scoring system.

i liked

The Splatter horror (pumpkin head game)
The Big woman attacks cities game thing
The Onechanbara whatever (girl in kinky outfit slaughters zombies)
The Taxi
The EDF1

The Kung Fu looks like the worst game ever made, which might make it utter comedy.

"the splatter action," i think, and what little i played was poor. nice visual style, but it seemed really clunky and simplistic. i guess you can buy new moves as you go along, though, so maybe it gets better.

yeah, i was taking in the context of good 2000 series games... i mean, in comparison to the 70+ crappy games! :)

Out of these, I'm guessing Taxi is a Crazy Taxi sort of game....Onechanbara sounds good...

What's this about a giant woman attacking cities? Are you the woman, or defending against?

Definitely not

The Miniskirt Police http://www.d3p.co.jp/s_20/s20_088.html
Sneak around this one part of town over and over kicking the same pink suit wearing yakuza in the balls. You get a gun but who cares. There is also this really really really annoying diegetic sound of a woman announcing something over an intercom. I don't know what hte fuck shes saying but it sounds like someone is ramming a spiked dildo up her butt.

and

The noroi game(cursed game) http://www.d3p.co.jp/noroi/index.html
This would have been interesting i guess if the budget was bigger than 200 yen. Basically whoever designed the game took his digital camera around and made a story out of the pictures he took, not a bad idea, ive used this approach before, but man, its like they did it in their office one day when they were bored. The story is basically the ring or juon or whatever, a haunted game gets played a ghost shows up and someone dies. Every so often youll get "treated" to a FMV sequence of someone dying. The first cutscene shows a guy at his computer playing the noroi game or whatever and then he looks down AND THERES A HAND COMING FROM UNDER HIS DESK!!! now mind you this might be scary under normal circumstances, but this time it was different. You could clearly see the guys wrist and arm under the desk. To demonstrate what exactly im talking about, sit under your desk and try typing on your keyboard from inside the desk. That was basically what they did. There didnt seem to be any gameplay to speak of except occasionally they would ask you a question. It didn't really matter it was terrible.

The Senko is actually not as bad as the other two games i posted, dont get me wrong its pretty terrible, the first level lasts 15 minutes and its a side scrolling brawler which is usually about half of the duration of the full game. The fighting engine is super clunky but because of its clunkyness its pretty fun chaining ridiculously long "combos". halfway through the first stage you will probably say "how fucking long is this god damned train" and quit. My brother and I braved through the whole thing and were rewarded with nothing.

Still, i have to say I'd rather play the senko instead of marvel nemesis rise of the imperfects.

Don't buy Oneechanbara or Oneechamploo. Oneechanbara is sort of a cowboy-bikini-girl zombie-killing tech demo with a couple of ugly levels that repeat quite a bit, a glitchy camera, one or two music tracks total, and horrid bosses. Oneechamploo is the same thing with one new level and a couple of extra characters.

Oneechanbara 2 looks improved enough that it should be worth a shot, though. The title's romanization is constantly mangled in different ways by different retailers, so here's a link:

Success rereleases a lot of their games under the "Superlite 2000" label. The title that I think would be most worth picking up is Psyvariar Revision, a sort of abstract shooter (think Kenta Cho).

The Daibijin looks ridiculous and hilarious. I've never played it, but I think that's the Simple 2000 game I'd get. Have any of you played that one?

(it's the 'giant woman attacks city' game)

I owned it! It sucks! But in a charming sort of way, and it's much better than the other Simple 2000 stroke games I've played. And I've played a lot.

It would be awesome if you controlled the girl, but you're stuck flying a helicopter and shooting at her. I think at one point I shot her in the butt with a giant syringe. I laufed and laufed and then never played the game again. I made a profit selling it on ebay!

EDF1 was by far the best Simple 2000 game until EDF2. I'd buy both if I were someone else!

The Splatter Action and Oananenechanbabara were both really, really disappointing. Splatter was at least kinda playable, though. And I remember the music being kinda cool.

Cowboy Bikini Girl Game 2 looks like it still has those weird stiff controls, and there doesn't seem to be any AI whatsoever in that vid. AND there's a new character without a cowboy hat! WHY. The music kinda makes up for all of it, though. FEELS SO GOOD TO MEEEEE. I bet I end up buying it. :(

I'm still waiting for someone to bring EDF2 to PAL teritories, Agetec, 505, anyone?
Also there should be some media on EDFX soon, though that won't be 2000 yen game.

Chikyuu Boueigun 2 (EDF 2) is a seriously fun game and not to mention insanely difficult on the higher difficulty levels like INFERNO and
IMPOSSIBLE
.
