I don't even play competitive Smash anymore nor do I really care for the series at this point, haven't gone to a tournament in about 6 months. It wasn't intentionally anything other than an attempt to stop seeing that incorrect and disparaging meme pasted everywhere Smash and Rules are mentioned. It perpetuates stupidity and I don't agree with it. I could say "RAPE IS OKAY" since it's a silly post in a silly thread, but that doesn't mean it won't invoke a serious response.

We call it 'winner stays on', but yes. Very much this as the most basic rule of play.

'pass the pad' comes into play instead with games that don't really get you killed. Usually a level or area.

Yes, I the wire is more likely to be damaged if it's just wrapped around the controllers.

If you play a competitive game: Shooter, fighter, racer. With a friend or significant other that has never played a game before, you let them win a few times to feel good about themselves before you let loose and crush them. Otherwise they loose interest too fast and won't play.

Spam the opposing teams spawn till they bleed. Don't walk in front of the TV. Go around! Don't put the controller back completely discharged. If you borrow said controller, you got to bring it back, and resync it to the proper console. Put the games away once you're done. And my favorite, during my DSL days, dont be watching NETFLIX while I'm playing MW2. Lags me out too bad.
