its completely irrational. I'll get on rollercoasters, but see through staircases or footbridges make my knees shake. The one time I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge I was so scared my feet were sweating.

Snakes, don't know where the origin came from but my Snake phobias is so bad that I can't even look at an image of snakes or anything that resembles them. It's also the cause of my nightmare and I just end up waking up in a cold sweat.

I also have a slight one with Dogs, as I fear being bitten by them.

Resharing my post's link. May help explain your snake fears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6grLJyqIM8E

People judging me was one of my biggest fears now i just don't care anymore i am myself and if people don't like the way i am then tough luck.

Was scared of getting tattoos got a few now, weared earings/studs as a kid always took them off when i was older now i got 2 helix piercings.

Honestly worrying too much about stuff just is dumb i was the most social when i never cared about that so i am doing that again now.

Dunno if that is a phobia or something but it limited me in life for some time.

I hate spiders and still do lol.

I have claustrophobia. I got an MRI in my mid teens for some back issues I had and came to that conclusion when I started getting really sick really fast and couldn't go through with it.

Claustrophobia
Arachnophobia
An immense roach phobia
Egg whites phobia
Hitting on girls I dont know...phobia

Origins:
Hell, I dont know, I am afraid of things

Spiders causes me to run from a room if they're within my visual range.

Speaking of phobias, the person is who named hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is a dick haha.

Other people's heights. I can hang off a cliff, eat cheeseburgers atop a skyscraper and dance on a precipice. But I absolutely freak out watching people I know or don't know, standing close to the edge of stuff.

Flying.

And there is no origin, phobias are irrational fears and my fear of planes has no grounding in reality.
Why not? You don't have any control whatsoever over your own life while off the ground. Seems pretty smart to me to be afraid of that.

I really don't like being in huge interior spaces. Empty buildings, warehouses, gyms, empty auditoriums, etc. In nature its okay because I am outdoors a lot. Just nothing structural.

Oh man, several other emetophobes in this thread. I feel you. My biggest fear is I'm going to get sick in a crowded place (i.e. public transit, airplane, etc.) and for a while it was majorly impacting my daily life. I had several panic attacks on public transit and now take Xanax every time I have to fly. Mindfulness/breathing exercises has helped me a lot, actually.

It's not just a fear of me getting sick, either, it's being around other people who are sick, so I get pretty anxious/panicky being around super drunk people. For some reason, people sure do love to talk about all the puking they do. :( Doesn't really help the obsessive, intrusive thoughts.

Oh, origin - I had really bad childhood asthma and used to throw up when I would have an asthma attack, so I associate anxiety/panic/being unable to breathe with throwing up.

and a really weird one. Sense of scale beyond the human standard, like playing Kerbal Space Program, traversing the depths of space and approaching planets is deeply unsettling for me, as is thinking too much about the scale of some things within the Universe. I'm hooked on the stuff unfortunately so it's a constant battle.

Canis Majoris literally freaks me out. For some reason my brain really tries to get how big it is (doesn't care about Jupiter) and I get dizzy and weirded out.

The audio for Jupiter on the 2010 movie is really scary too.

Hitting on girls I dont know...phobia

The trick is you don't hit on girls, you get them to hit on you.

On topic, flying is starting to get on my nerves. I'm not scared to fly really, but I've had so many bad flights recently that I just get too anxious and am a wreck. I used to have a thing for spiders, kind of but becoming a dad forced me to overcome that and be the spider killer of the family.

Other than those, I really fear failure, letting my kids down and not investing enough to retire comfortably.

Canis Majoris is a real mind bender yeah, there's a guy called morn1415 on Youtube that made a star size comparison with that included before that filled me with a weird sense of dread, like my stomach sank. He made another with black holes that ends on one of the largest known black holes. It's worth checking out, but damn it's a bit much too. Freaks me out more than Canis Majoris thinking about some of the black hoes out there, especially when we have wandering ones too.

Here's a link if you wanna give it a whirl. It's a very good way to represent the scale too.

Any kind of holes or cracks in the earth unnerve me to no end.

Ok you just reminded me of two more awful ones.

Sinkholes
Whirlpools

I went to the Royal Gorge Bridge last year and that along with the gondola rid was pretty scary. I don't normally get scared of heights but when it's something like that I get a bit nervous.

I hate public speaking. How do you do it Stinkles? I'm pretty social and everything, but getting in front of people with attention focused on me...I feel like I can read their minds or some shit, and it's not great. Somehow I'm always required to do it for work or a wedding or whatever, and it doesn't get better. I think it was when I hit puberty; something went overboard in my head and my internal dialogue fucked me. Thinking about thinking about thinking ad infinitum.

I'm not scared of much else at all, very strange.

Everyday I tell my kids goodbye before school I worry about a shooting. It's not likely because it's a nice area but still.

I got so many philias that I don't have any room for phobias.

Loss of independence - as in, becoming a quadriplegic or in some other way incapacitated - would make me want to end it all, but it's not something I'd consider a phobia still.

losing my wallet...does that count?

Lost it once in a night club, now i can't go 2 minutes without touching my butt...

Other than that, i can't stand poop in general, it disgusts the ever living hell out of me. Doing my cats litterbox is the chore i despise doing the most. (which is weird because my own poop doesn't disgust me at all). Public toilets are a nightmare for me.

This thread has been unusually high on restraint regarding pictures.

Not going to do anything to alter that, just saying. Some places on the internet are just callous.

Someone will tape my mouth shut during a robbery, not knowing I can't breathe through my nose, and I'll suffocate and die. All the time knowing that I was right to be scared of it happening.

Big fear of mine.

Spiders. I have grown to tolerate them being near me, like say on a web on my porch. But I still often start when I see one, and I cannot tolerate them to live inside my house.

Someone rear ending me. I had a bad experience, almost got got when a large car rear ended me at a stop years ago. Ever since then I find myself being ultra aware of the traffic behind me while I'm stopped, even jumping sometimes if I happen to glance in my rearview and see a SUV closeby.
