I liked Fire Emblem: Awakening's, but I can't find a screenshot :(

This thread is a prime example of all the posts are right. Man I agree with pretty much every one of these.

I just came here to post this GIF of the Xenoblade title screen along with a link to the music.

Fucking yes.

It's pretty impressive when you can make a title screen an emotional audio-visual experience.

The combination of the music and scenery makes this win handedly for me.

Fun seeing this thread.. I have always really enjoyed title screens and over the last 6 months or so I started a youtube channel just for game title screens. Totally for the love of title screens.. I have no placed any adds at all. I am nearing 300 right now and plan to keep going.. some of my favorites are the Halo title screens and the Uncharted ones. Favorite recent ones would include Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon and Deus Ex. I hope to one day document as many as I can get my hands on.

If you are interested in seeing the channel..

I agree with those who said Persona 3, 4 and Xenoblade.

Ocarina of Time, too. It was my first 3D game, and the intro blew me away back then. I was so excited.

For me, it's Super Metroid.

The even, pulsating rhythm of the music once the eerie, crawling intro is swept away by the game's title text is what sells it. That musical drop is like one of the most simple and effective "Oh shit" moments in all of gaming for me. At that exact moment is when you see the dead bodies on either side of the baby Metroid's holding tank, and you can see him floating about within the dim glow of the lights, his membrane growing brighter every time he chirps. It's fucking intense, and the experience hasn't even properly started yet.

From as objective a standpoint I can say this from, this one is honestly the best I've seen. It's not just good for 1993, it's better than any other title released before or since that I've seen, put side-by-side. It just seems so... sophisticated; I wasn't actively gaming in '93, but I imagine most title screens tried to be as bombastic and rousing as possible. SM slowly builds the scene with quick flashes before showing entire terminal. It's ominous, it leaves you wondering what happened to the scientists and it's an actual place at a certain point in time before starting the game, not some abstract title screen with a collage of the hero and villains. You go there early on, so when you see that
the Metroid is missing
, you're like "Uhhh..." So good.

I find Metroid Prime's, Ocarina of Time's and Xenoblade's to each be amazing, but not on Super Metroid's level.

Only if it's an early enough copy. Some later Halo 1 discs have Halo 2 marketing videos in the Game Demos tab.

It's unfortunate that the Xbox 360 is too weak of a console to handle the Game Demos tab.

Half-Life 2, and similar title screens in Source games in general, deserve a mention.
