What are your thoughts on Genshin Impact?

Too much grinding for materials is what put me off. Other than that it was pretty fun, I played for a month or two until I lost interest.

Damn, I don't know you personally but based on your posts in this thread it's almost impossible to have a level conversation with you. You come off as very abrasive right off the bat.

Let's just let it suffice that our tastes are different. Sorry you did not like the game.
Well, it will never be possible as long as you'll take it super personally every time some rando like me makes fun of something you like.

It's just a dumb game, bro.

I find character design discussion in JRPGs funny, people shit on them because characters are "too anime" but then we have FFXVI also gets shit on because apparently "its not anime enough".

I liked it for a while, but I ended up with too many characters, and it became a huge pain to get artifact sets and level them. Not worth the grind. Now it just sits on my phone

I first tried it when I was at home with a flu and really nausious. Then after it made me nauseus. So I fucked the game up a bit. I'm sure I could get over it. I've done that exact same thing to another game tho.

Otherwise it was neat. Most the components were competant and it seemed to add up to more than the sum. Nice quality game.

I used to play the game for over 2 years. I quit playing it for many reasons. 1) censorship, 2) lack of end-game content 3) greedy developers.

For the censorship Hoyo is too lazy when it comes to making multiple versions. Almost every CN gacha uncensors the game for global servers as CN rules don't apply to global. Hoyo goes the lazy way and publishes the censored designs for every region. It has become so bad that female characters can't show an inch of cleavage and even textures on female pants are removed. The game lacks end-game content. When asked last year they said they won't add end-game content because "it would give players anxiety". You are pretty much grinding for characters and weapons for nothing.

Have never played it. Any game that primarily revolves around farming/grinding is an insant deal breaker for me, and I can't imagine a F2P gacha game being about anything else so I have zero desire to even try it.

Absolute trash. Like tc, I tried it for a couple of weeks and the grind got so completely stupid that I got out of that shit with a quickness.

There's a ton of endgame content isn't there? I see every few weeks/months I see these new updates with more gameplay content. I played the base version for a couple of hours when it first came out, but I don't know where I would even begin with all of the other stuff they're actively pushing out.

So let me get this straight. These:
genshin-impact-outfits-skins-costumes.jpg

are supposed to be:
1. Adult
2. Not sexualised

Have you ever heard of the term "barely legal"?

Besides, it's just a comment that I made in passing to poke fun at the game. It's a bit sus to be so defensive about it, bro. Let it go.
Um, yes? Have you ever met a young adult woman in your life? Like, freshman in college or thereabouts? At worst these characters look that young,

I have no reason to really be "defensive", I don't feel there is anything to be defensive about lol. My initial post even agreed with your assessment of not caring for the game. This on the other hand is an exceptionally weird hill to die on (especially because, again, the existence of women ≠ sexualization, I can't believe I even have to spell this out).

I don't play mobile games and I don't find it appealing. But I can get why there are many people enjoying it.

You are grasping at straws.

RPGs are my most played genre. Tell me you never played Genshin Impact without telling me you never played Genshin Impact.
I have played it. It is a very mediocre, subpar RPG. But I know how it is when you ahve sunkcost fallacy.

I refuse to even try it. I've never played a pay to play game that didnt end up hitting a brick wall of bullshit after a few hours.

I know you won't believe me, but as someone who started playing within a week or two of launch, there's really not much of a wall. Just play the game slowly, do your dailies, explore the early areas to build Adventurer Level, do your dailies, and you'd be fine.

I've never put a penny into the game, and I have roughly 200 draws saved up (which is enough for 2-3 5-star characters off the time-limited gacha). Find the characters that appeal to you because of how they show up in the story, or how they play (you get free trials for each of the promoted characters, and premium currency for playing the 5-star trials), or because waifu (the Community forum is a minimal judgment zone). 5-stars rerun a few times a year, so you will get a chance to get everyone you like.

About the only person who I wouldn't recommend the game to is a completionist, because the only way to get every character / every weapon would be to spend money. From my experience...you wouldn't actually want all of the characters. There are a few that I dread seeing in story events, who I will never try to get. Itto, Wanderer, Kokomi, and Hu Tao...a whole team of cringe.

I like the story enough to put up with the gacha mechanics. The good story stuff. The Khaenri'ah stuff. I want to see the story through, which is more than I can say for the last few JRPGs I've actually paid for (coughcoughFinalFantasy).

I love BOTW. I love (most) anime games. And I like free. The character designs and preview videos looked really good. So I was really looking forward to playing this.
Maybe I had my expectations too high, but I thought it was pretty "meh." It just feels empty, and overly drawn-out, and tedious. I dunno, I really wanted to like this game, and tried to "get into it" on several occasions. But I just ended up getting bored and playing something else after about an hour.
Glad to see it doing well though.

Is one of the trashiest trash garbage games ever made.

It's dumb, over weeb, strangely suggestive and It's a gamble machine made to take advantage of people with mental health issues.

a chinese botw meets ff14 knock-off, thats honestly all i see it as.

Granted, at least its one of the better gatcha games according to my friends who are fans of it. Im indifferent however.

Game could be good if it didn't have that stamina system and wasn't just P2W gacha trash.

I like the art design and music but that's about it. I gave up on it like a year ago.

And I think once you explore everything they let you explore it's back to farming Abyss, Artifacts and doing dailies.

Very much caters to the mobile version of game.
