What CLASSIC games series DO you want to come back?

Ogre Battle. Spanky's Quest. Ogre Battle. Mother. Ogre Battle. Golden Sun. Ogre Battle. Pokemon TCG. Good Harvest Moons. Ogre Battle. North American releases of Goemon. And probably Ogre Battle.

Kohan: Ahriman's Gift 2 (not Kings of War)

Alpha Centauri 3

Real Bout Fatal Fury

Rampart 2

Twinkle Star Sprites 2 as a bullet hell competitive game

G-Police. It's not like Sony's forgot about it, becuase it is on PSN. A new one would be nice, Sony.

Rollcage too. Fuck yeah. Blasting, driving on the walls and speeding. I need this so much.

Jet Force Gemini *sniff*

I loved (/hated :D ) the bosses in this game:

edit: On second thought I don't know if it qualifies as a series though :lol

Shining Force
Quest For Glory
Alundra with Alundra as the main character. (Fuck Flint!)
Chrono
Monkey Island
Jumping Flash
Darkstalkers
Landstalker

Flashback
River City Ransom

Jesus, a lot of you people who want these games should check to see if they exist first. Because a lot of these suggestions have already been done.

For example, we got a new Bonk game 2 years ago. Not a remake, Bonk IV.

Capcom brought back Final Fight a few years ago.

We're getting a new SRPG shining force.

Space Harrier got a sequel a few years back, Planet Harriers.

We got a new Gunstar Heroes.

Sega already gave us Streets of Rage Online on XBLA.

They made a 3rd Lunar... and it was pretty bad. Not as bad as the GBA remake, though.

It seems all the classic series I wanted are now coming back (Punch-Out, Excite, possibly Kid Icarus).

Blast Corps would be great, as would Jet Force Gemini if we're discussing Rare games.

Bonk IV came out years ago, and was some RPG hybrid thing. The last game from the franchise was indeed a remake. I've never seen anything else since.

And I want a good Final Fight revival. The PS2 game sucked.

Elevator Action or Crazy Taxi done right. Not an overly huge city where you just get lost, but a compact, well thought out one like the original that is well balanced when it comes to score attacks.

Full 2-D, massive collection of everything multi-platform released. I want all the old weapons, multiple modes, plenty of training, full XBL and PSN support, reasonable price, the archives of sound from Armageddon's PC release.

It can't be hard to do.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors remake/sequel for XBLA/PSN
Zombies Ate My Neighbors remake/sequel for XBLA/PSN
Zombies Ate My Neighbors remake/sequel for XBLA/PSN

Phantasy Star
Phantasy Star Online (dunno about the DS game though)
Saga of Ryzom
Live a Live
Snake Rattle'n'Roll
Albion
Axelay
E.V.O.
Terranigma (oh pleeeeeease)
Dungeon Keeper
Demon's Crest
Plok

... and so on. Cripes, too many to list.

Not a sequel, but something unique like it:
Rez
Worms
Legend of Mana (Mana series is dead, so...)

streets of rage (even just an HD remix would be awesome)
earthworm jim
gex (need me some humorous tongue-in-cheek lizard platforming action)
toe jam and earl!!!!!!!!!
zero tolerance >:D
haunting: starring polterguy
zombies ate my neighbors (although it seems there are a handful of new ott zombie games now... that will never be as good)
desert/jungle/tropic/nuclear/thunder/falcon/couger strike games (persistent world you can travel entire map at anytime like oblivion- the originals were like this)

God damn, I forgot about these. I don't even know how I can play videogames anymore, everything is shit compared to the awesome 16 bit gen games such as these.

Double Dragon. It's been a minute since we got Advance, and I'm not even going to bother dredging up that XBLA "remake" from a year or so ago. Million, I know you're struggling with trying to make Kunio-kun into a profitable commodity, but how about giving us a nice Double Dragon brawler, while you're at it?

Hiryu no Ken (aka Flying Warriors/Flying Dragon). I loved the NES games in the series, which basically were side-scrolling fighter/platformers that mixed some faux RPG aspects into the fray. Culture Brain, however, has seemingly never been the same after the 16-bit era, so who knows when they'll come back? I miss the old school CB...

Gargoyle's Crest. Even a HD remake, or a DS port, of Demon's Crest would suffice for now. But really...Red Arremer (or Firebrand, if you will) NEEDS to have another game. He deserves it.

Rockman DASH/Mega Man Legends. How long will you continue to cocktease us, Inafune, before you FINALLY give us the third game?

Guardian Heroes. Treasure. While I liked the Advance "sequel", and the extra mode in Bleach DS 2 was fun...seriously. Where's a true-to-form follow-up to this Saturn classic?

Sengoku. While being a relatively sub-par beat em up series by SNK/ADK, after Noise got it for Sengoku 3/2001, they made what was probably ONE OF THE BEST BRAWLERS EVER MADE! After the new Power Instinct, it would do my heart right to see another game by Noise. And hell, give the third game a PS2 port, already! :D

Vampire(Darkstalkers). This FG series needs a new continuance in the WORST way. Capcom, you've got like 3 FG engines at your disposal (SF4, TVC, Fate). ONE of these should be able to host another round of festivities for Morrigan and her lil friends, right?!

EDIT:

Forgot this...

Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver. The series took some spills and had some set-backs towards the end (most notably, people leaving, and the awesome-ness that was Tony Jay dying), but I still would like to see the series come back in style, one day...

A new game in the series for *any* of the current systems. All I really think it *needs* to include is support for a joystick like Steel Batallion had:
steel_battalion.jpg

That and the promise of more games and rebuilds of the old ones in the new engine.

Total sex.

Oh gawd. I forgot MDK. How could I forget MDK.

I loved MDK 1, MDK2 felt way different and frankly didn't excite me in any way - small wonder, since it was done by a different team and released on a console too. But still, I liked the atmosphere and art.

Plus, MDK1 ran just fine on my Pentium 100 w/ 32 MB RAM while looking great. It was coded pretty darn efficiently. I was amazed.

Obligatory gog fanboy linkage: Interview with one of the MDK2 guys (Greg Zeschuk).

I also second Rockman Dash/Megaman Legends. Awesome games.

This man knows his games.

Mischief Makers
A true sequel to Metroid Fusion (more sidescrollers!), or hell Super Metroid HD
A true sequel to Super Mario RPG
RayStorm
Streets of Rage 4? =o
A sidescroller Sonic game that doesn't blow ass.
A true Castlevania sidescroller that takes advantage of console tech instead of having them on the DS.
Rival Schools

I agree with everyone here that also wanted these titles to make a return:
MegaMan Legends
Earthworm Jim
PowerStone

I'm also ashamed that I have not seen anyone mention bringing back the Marvel vs Capcom series. =(
