What did you buy in 2005?

I only bought a handful of games for any current console or handheld this year. I did buy a bunch of PC games this year (many of them a few years old) and did a pretty big PC upgrade, plus I bought a lot of older cartridge games (mostly SNES) for cheap.

I think you owned yourself by spending $3,982.66 on videogames.

Probably 1/3 or so of the costs come from my girlfriend. Also this is probably by far the most we'll ever spend on games in a year since we pretty much caught up on all the past gen titles we didn't have, and most of current gen. For someone to spend $2500 or so a year (less than $100 a check, and I make decent money) on their main hobby is hardly abnormal, I know people who spend way more than that on their hobbies and shit.

Anyway.....ALL BOUGHT BRAND NEW:

GC:

RE4
Killer 7

PS2:

Devil May Cry 3
File 2
Shadow of the Colossus

DS:
Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow
Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble

GBA:
Castlevania CotM
Manish Cap

The few other games I have I bought used n' stuff.

Servizio

I don't really need a tag, but I figured I'd get one to make people jealous. Is it working?
...Is there some kind of site that tracks everyones purchases or something? I don't remember what I bought this year.

BreakyBoy

This is probably incomplete and missing at least a dozen games.

This is actually a marked improvement (far less games) than last year. Hopefully next year aside from maybe getting a Revolution at launch (if the new SSB is anywhere near as good as SSBM, or if the Virtual Console service launches with tons of games I want), I'll be able to buy fewer games than even this year. I have plenty of catching up to do as it is.

A pretty heavy year in terms of game buying for me.

This year, I purchased the following:

A PS2 system and these games:

Amplitude
Astro Boy
Capcom Collection
Castle Shikigami 2
Contra: Shattered Soldier
Devil May Cry
Dragon Quest VIII
Frequency
Gradius III and IV
Gradius V
Guilty Gear X

Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution

For Gamecube:

Star Fox Assault
Super Mario Baseball
Super Mario Strikers
Shadow the Hedgehog
Sonic Gems Collection
Prince of Persia - Warrior Within
MLB Slugfest 2004
Phantasy Star Online ep. 3

For GBA:

Mega Man Zero IV
Final Fantasy IV
Sigma Star Saga
Gunstar Super Heroes
Dr. Mario/Puzzle League

and about 20 or so older GBA games that I don't care to even try listing.

I also got a Nintendo DS, and these games:

Super Mario 64
Mario Kart
Castlevania
Sonic Rush
Nintendogs
Mega Man Battle Network 5
Animal Crossing
Mario and Luigi 2
Viewtiful Joe - Double Trouble

I won't even list the PS1, Saturn, NES, Genesis, etc stuff.

I highly doubt next year will have even half as many games for me. But with so many new consoles coming out, you never know.

Living out of home for half the year enhanced my bargain hunting skills, and review stuff always helps - 2005 was the least expensive year for gaming for me since I finished school, with only $AU1500 spent, down about $AU700 year over, but with the same number of games purchased.

PS2

Most of my best stuff was sent to me for free, and thus is not counted.

Well, unless he's really doing well financially, I think the money probably could have been better spent elsewhere.

I'm doing pretty good ^^. Honestly that is literally twice what me and my girlfriend normally spend on games, we just did a massive amount of catchup this year, and there's been a LOT of really good sales, especially the last couple months. Technically everything you buy that's not necessary food/shelter/survival needs could be better spent elsewhere :).

A month ago, before getting the DS and three games, I figured out I spent around $2200 on gaming this year. So add in a DS and three games at $30, and you get $2420. A lot of money.

Next year I'm just sticking to my DS and not getting anything that is old. Next purchase is Super Princess Peach and thats not until February. It will be crazy but I think I will be fine. For consoles, its either PS3 or Revolution. It all depends on what Nintendo shows for Revolution.

Shit, in the last month I have bought a 360, 11 games, 3 wireless controllers, a second psp, 10 psp games, Guitar heros and an extra:), and 10 ds/GBA games. total, guess ~$2000.

This year, AT LEAST 60 more games on top of this list spread arcoss every current system, the DS, my 1.5 psp, a slim PS2.

Another GREAT year to be a gamer:)... and happy to be able to afford this hobby!!
