What do you think the Kingdom Hearts 3 winter announcements will be?

I'll say that if they wanna impress me on how well the development is going on their next trailer they better not reuse music for the millionth time. Even the last HD collection got at least a new remix for the last few trailers.
 
I think the next proper trailer will have a new Shimomura track, even if she still has a lot of the score left to compose.

Didn't we already have the one new screenshot some days ago? I wouldn't be surprised if that is the "winter announcements".

Anyway i really expected Kingdom Hearts 3 to be a 2017 game, but that Nomura interview made it clear it won't be.

jokes aside Nomura would never give up working KH, like there is no way he would let anyone take over for him
 
i think we'll see a teaser showcasing olympus coliseum.
appropriate time to release information during this month should be : 9,10 and 28.
i'm really excited for this month ^_^
 
im hoping for a small story trailer if the world they were already annouced with one or two world new world and i think e3 we find about the date
 
I'm hoping for the announcement of 1 or 2 new worlds.

(I'm really hoping that one of those worlds is The Black Hole, but that's probably not going to happen - that movie doesn't have quite the same cult popularity that Tron did, for example).

You have to wait for Unchained x season 5, coming in 2022 just before the release of KH3.

Probably after 1.5/2.5 now.
Seems they don't want to raise hype for KH3 when another KH is closer to release.
 
Lot of pessimism... I really think we will be getting some decent KH3 news this month (not screenshots of the same areas) tied in with the 15th anniversary now that the 2.8/XV hype has quieted down and considering 1.5+2.5 is much less promoted than normal for SE (it's only had one officially released trailer and is launching this week), but who knows...

Doubt someone will but it would be cool if an insider could say here if anything will happen or not.
 
There are a bunch of reasons to be pessimist about KH3. 0.2 performance was pretty dissapointing and the last full KH game wasn't exactly the high point for the series.

Also they still have a way to go with making everything look good with their new artstyle. The main characters have improved a lot to be sure but there are still janky stuff here and there. For example look at Yen Sid facial animation in 0.2, it's super stiff and feels like it animates way less than his previous model, Goofy is too ''shiny''/toylike/whatever ect.

But if I was to be less cynical and impatient (tired of waiting for KH3 personally), I would be expecting a new trailer showing off the Mount Olympus, Tangled and Big Hero 6 worlds in action (proving to people development has been making progress). Then the trailer closes out with a 'Spring 2018' release date.

Getting a grounded release date and new footage of already announced worlds would make me very, very happy. But I'm not expecting that at all.

I meant there's a lot of pessimism about the possibility of them showing the game, not about the quality of KH3.

But 0.2's relatively poor/disappointing technical performance (if that's what you mean by performance) doesn't worry me since they have way more time for KH3 and it will have all of Osaka team's staff devoted to it. For the Pro version hopefully they forget about unlocked frame rate and focus on 1080p 30. I agree that the translation of the artstyle and character models still aren't as good as they could be but I think they have improved a lot and I was one of the most vocal critics of them before... Yen Sid could be better but I wouldn't be surprised if at the moment/the last two years they have been focussed on perfecting the new Disney characters' (like Rapunzel) models and animations and improvements for older Disney characters with similar models to what they had come later.
 
A teaser to please be excited for e3 then another trailer in the same areas we've seen for the past 4 years with another please be excited for next winter.

Well we suspected they weren't going to show it in any meaningful capacity last year with XV taking all their major focus and 2.8 needing to be pushed lol. It's hard for fans but those two were fair reasons not to show it and it's also given them a lot of uninterrupted development time since they didn't have to spend months polishing a vertical slice.
 
I just want some substantial info at this point. A story trailer,a new world or two. It's time, the vague interviews,the lil rough screenshots need to be over this year. This is my fav gaming series of all time so I say it with care it's time for some serious kh3 exposure. Some behind closed doors gameplay impressions at the very least
 
Release date? It better be in 2018 lol it's getting ridiculous now:/

If this does not top KH 2 it would be a real shame imo...
 
My guess now is we get something on March 28 (Japan time) the series' 15th anniversary. Last year we got our first look at Back Cover on the series anniversary and that was not even a significant milestone (14th anniversary). Not a trailer but maybe a small amount of San Fransokyo gameplay and a message that stuff will be coming at E3.
 
I'm hoping for a $499 Limited Collector's Edition with Sora's face as a gamepad, that can also be a mask. That way you can be Sora while you interact with Sora while controlling Sora.

Pretty thematic, right?
