What does being triggered feel like?

When something doesn’t go your way no matter how hard you work for it. You see the frustration? That’s a result of being triggered. But the SJW snowflakes can put it in perfect words for you

I know we like to joke about 'being triggered' but there are legit mental health situations that can trigger past trauma. I am not sure I have ever experienced one of those. As for being triggered because someone on the internet said something I don't agree with, it's that feeling you get when you're so angry you're about to cry in rage.

Sure, but the vast majority of triggerings in current_year are snowflakes appropriating PTSD.

I’d imagine it’s like an orgasm, except the exact opposite. Instead of being all aaaaahhhhh in pleasure you’re all gggggrrrrrr in rage.

Just recently, someone in a Discord I frequent said Sea of Thieves was the best Rare game, which of course triggered me. It is a feeling of excitementand an urge to rush heads first into a debate about the position. It is exciting, but comes with a certain level of disbelief that someone could write something so preposterous.

I hope you taught that person a lesson. Perfect Dark exists.

Coming from a military family, I hate how the word has been hijacked by people to apply to under developed manchilds (and womanchilds) who can’t seem to understand life doesn’t always work out as you think it should.

But that’s the world right now, children in the current first world were raised without much strife, suffering or real war to deal with like past generations. They have very little idea what true sorrow is, what true fear is, all they know is the cozy padded rooms we’ve built for them, and thus all the problems we saw as fringe issues long ago are now the most important big problems of their lives, because they have no idea what a real problem actually looks like. It’s why more and more of them refuse to vote, take part in democracy, call for socialism and seem to be all for big brother rule. They have no idea, they think they know everything but they’ve never actually lived life to see pie in the sky theories don’t hold up to the reality.

Sorry rant over, just venting.

I am def triggered by science deniers. Also people who make inflammatory statements on topics they are very ignorant of.

Oh another big one for me is 9/11 conspiracy nuts

Sometimes when you see a piece of media that references a past trauma you experienced like a bad car accident, a suicide of someone close, or a rape/mugging, it can bring up discomfort in your head. Your brain is very good at compartmentalizing information, but in this case its a bad thing because you associate ancillary factors with your trauma. Suddenly an episode of breaking bad makes you feel like when you had a drug problem. Suddenly a loud noise and people yelling makes you feel like you're back in Afghanistan.

Not online, no... but in real life and at work, I tend to get overtly annoyed when people do dumb/rude things in public spaces or when people at work ask dumb questions they should know the answers to. I've got a short fuse for certain things.

Not sure it that qualifies as "triggered".

trauma lingers, it doesn't go away after you got a leg blown off in combat or whatever

it burrows into the black matter of your brain

For someone to actually be triggered it's like having the worst moment of your life smashed into your face again when you don't expect it.

Its like running headlong into a brick wall that refuses to yield to your thick, but softer skull.

For overly sensitive sjws it's just Tuesday.

I haven't had any real trauma in my life but I imagine it is like when you see something that reminds you of a loved one who passed away, and you have a rush of emotions about that person and losing them. Except that for real trauma, it would be the emotions associated with for example being repeatedly raped by your father or seeing your friends head blown off and getting his skull fragments embedded in your chest and chunks of his brain in your hair.
