What game as the best DLC in your opinion?

It only took them 400 years, but the DLC basically doubled the game. And if you’re a Nintendo degenerate like me, you got it for “free” with their NSO+ service.

Mass Effect 2’s Lair of the Shadow Broker is the tops for me.

Honorable mentions to the ME3 multiplayer expansions and Citidel story DLC.

The Witcher 3 dlcs are top class as well. I loved the conversations to be had with Gaunter O’Dimm and Regis along with the locations to be explored. Wonderful music (4:47 is so good):

Shoutout to the expansions to be played from Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.

Fallout New Vegas Old World Blues
Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction
Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne
Red Alert 2 Yuri’s Revenge
Starcraft Brood War

Those at the top of my head.

Souls.

Arterias of the Abyss, Crowns, Ashes of Ariandel, The Ringed City, The Old Hunters. And soon: Shadow of the Erdtree.
agreed except I kinda hated DS2 dlc(felt gimmicky and was a trap fest) and loved the base game. but that's and exception in the franchise.
DS3 dlc is so good, it is one of best gaming pieces of content ever made.
BB dlc is god tier for Ludwig fight alone

GTAIV dlc's were amazing
I was thinking this too but they were also released standalone I believe. TLOU:Left Behind was also good DLC but released standalone too.

My choice is AOE: The Conquerers since it was a great DLC at the time.

Most of mentioned above are amazing but I will add:

FFXV - all of DLC pieces have completely different gameplay.

Probably Witcher's Blood and Wine/Hearts of Stone and Monster Hunter's Iceborne for me. Dying Light had a okay expansion in The Following, but the other DLC was bad.

I remember Fallout 3 DLC was big hype back in the day.

You are mixing "early access in disguise" for post launch support.
...should've said NMS and that's it.
If you've not copied and pasted this from somewhere and just wrote it for this post?

Just going by hearsay, The Witcher 3 has DLC that's better than the actual game. I can't think of any other game that DARES to make that claim. Mind you, I own that game and it's DLC on the Xbox Series X and S, and on the Nintendo Switch.

Firaxis always had good DLC. The stuff for Civ 5, XCOM, XCOM 2, Civ 4 all legit improved the game. And Civ 6 I guess, although they got a little wacky.

For non-strategy, I dunno Prey Mooncrash is pretty awesome, and weirdly deeper and more interesting than the game that took some of its ideas.

Separate Ways - Resident Evil 4

Miles Morales is not DLC, it's a complete standalone game. SM2018's DLC is actually pretty lame, although the story stuff is ok.

Nope.

1. Most of those features were never promised prior to release. Its core concept was intact day 1 anything after adds on to the game, so I don't see this as an early access even remotely. Its not like they fucking said 3 years later you might get enemies that can fly ships too lol
2. It was super necessary to show people the scope of their post launch support (for free mind you)
3. The list is from like 3 different sources lol

If we are going to talk about post launch support in regards to DLC, lets actually talk about the real, above and beyond, extended support, by a company that did it completely for free.

So there is paid DLC charging you for a few features that should have been at launch.....and then there is this massive expansion for free that is eons beyond anything we've seen in the AAA space.

Don't be mad at HelloGames, strive to have other developers actually fucking seek to be like them in terms of their post launch support, done for free.

No way can we have a thread talking about the best DLC, ignore those accomplishments.

(edit and don't waste my time on fucking screenshots either, give me a proper list of actual fucking gameplay elements lol I fucking PLAY games, I don't merely look at em for lolz)

(proceeds lolz)

Blood and Wine is the best DLC I've ever played. I preferred it to the main game.

Also want to mention The Legend of Dead Kel DLC for Kingdoms of Amalur. A very lengthy pirate-themed expansion that, similarly to Blood and Wine, changed the feel of the game world substantially.

Ringed City for Dark Souls 3. Just incredible and caps off the whole trilogy
As someone who got into the series late, I had no idea this wasn't just part of the game. The boss of this segment is beyond epic. And thoroughly frustrating. Agreed that it's phenomenal.

Off the top of my head, I really enjoyed Arkham Knight's season pass content. Great mix of fan service for fans of the movies and more high quality single player campaigns. Also big shout out to the Cold, Cold Heart DLC from Origins.

For me its the map packs for Hunter Call of the Wild. For less than a fiver you get a huge map with hundreds of hours of gameplay, every 6 months for the past 5 years. Insane value and keeps the game fresh.

Yeah I played it. It still feels like pointless nothing no matter how many patches but I get your point. They added stuff.
I wouldn’t consider new features, vehicles and items better than any souls dlc still. And yeah. They promised ton of that prerelease. Not all of course

You gen Z over-thinkers are wild. 😜
Gen Y thinker if anything

I really liked The Old Hunters for Bloodborn and in term of content I would say Witcher 3 DLCs are kinda insane especially Blood & Wine.
