What Game Store Downloads the Fastest for You?

Steam = Origin = Uplay = W10 Store >> Xbox >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSN
For me it's pretty close to this, but Xbox is tied with the rest. It's possible the others are better with a faster connection, but all of them regularly hit around 100mbps for me. PSN, even on a wired connection, doesn't even come close to the others. I have no comment on Nintendo, as the original 3DS is my newest Nintendo system.

PC (Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc.) all max my connection.

PSN and XBL are pretty much equal as long as the PS4 is in rest mode.

Switch/3DS/WiiU are slowest, but I'm pretty certain that's because they're all wireless.

Steam by far. I had pretty good speeds when I had an Xbox One. PS4 speeds are absolutely terrible though.

Steam will usually max out around 43 MB/s when downloading a game. PS4 usually reports around 50 Mb/s down when doing the internet connection test (wired connection).

Steam and PSN are fucking shit slow for me. Xbox Live is actually pretty good. Nintendo eShop is also really slow but I only had a 3DS to test it so it was WiFi only. Couldn't tell you what it's like wired.

Easily Steam, also Battle.net (or whatever the fuck it's called) and weirdly enough uplay is really quick for me. PSN seems better than before, but still not great.

EShop>Steam>W10 Store>Google Play>>Oculus Store

Steam is almost as quick as the eShop but drops the connection intermittently. I don't know why that is.
🤔

Steam seem to download at the max that we have (2.5MB/s), the Switch seems to hover around the around 2MB (comparing download size and time that is) while PSN is like 500kbps if I'm lucky...

All three wired.

Steam is #1, but honestly my Wii U has always had ridiculously fast DL speeds. Xbox ranges from mediocre to pretty good, but PSN has always come in dead last. It's taken me 24 hours to download 25 gigs before. It's always been like that and I have no idea why.

Steam/Origin/Uplay (haven't noticed big differences between them) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> PSN/EShop (in a whole other level... bad level, I mean).

I complained about PSN download speeds for a long time but they've been extremely fast since I went hardwired. I have 300 mbps down and I'm definitely getting close to that now.

Switch is slower for me than PSN by a considerable amount.

I have 300mb n I get download speeds of over 200mb on psn. Games download super fast.. Wired connection I never use wifi

Steam is the fastest. Their CDN is good.

PSN download speed is strange one. Their CDN is screwed up.

Both PS4 and my PC have gigabit ethernet, expected max speed is 10MB/s (capped from my ISP). Steam always in stable 10MB/s but PSN often drop into 1MB/s, unless I pause > resume again. The same thing happens when I straight download the .pkg files from PSN servers. Something wrong with PSN CDN.

Battle.net>PSN>Origin>STEAM.

Even if i change server steam can't max my 85mbps connection at best i see spike to 8MB/s, with Battle.net I get 10.4MB/s without any problem, with PSN arround 9.6, with origin 8.4 and steam from 6 to 8 depending on server load.

My Xbox download speeds are so far ahead of what I get on PS4. It's one of the major reasons 95% of my games on PS4 are physical copies while I've gone all digital on Xbox.

Steam = W10 Store = XBL They all use about 90% of my connection. 100mbs down here

I don't use PSN and it is known 3DS (old version at least) is pretty slow.

Steam and GOG are the only platforms that fully utilise my line when I had a 100Mbps line and now my 1Gbps line. I use them every day. All consistent too. Origin as well when I've used it but I rarely ever use Origin to say for certain.

PSN is by far the worst combined with fluctuations.

My PC on Wifi downloads Steam games faster than my PS4 does hardwired. I get 200mbps down from Comcast and a PS4 hardwired gets me 50. Steam wifi gets me 55 on average. When I plug my PC in I get 180mbps. My Xbox plugged in to the router right next to my PS4 gets 130mbps.

seriously Sony. Fix this nonsense. I thought the raise in PS+ price would've brought some better servers

Blizzard App > Uplay > Origin > Steam > Xbox > Win 10 >> Nintendo Switch >>>> PSN

On the random days PSN decides to not be a piece of shit and download at like 1/4 or 1/8 of my speed, it's closer above Nintendo.

All I know is Blizzard loves me and wants me in my game fast as shit.

100Mbps connection.

PC generally downloads fastest, across almost all of my game management apps. Actually maxes my connection on Steam, which is the one I use the most frequently (and have actually used frequently in recent memory). Wired.

Much smaller file sizes tends to make the 3DS and Switch feel pretty quick, despite them seeming to cap at about 40% of my top speed. Wireless.

PSN via my PS4 is always annoyingly slow. Caps at about 25-30% my speed at best. Wired.

Battle.net (or whatever it is called now). I downloaded Starcraft 2 at 50 MB/s the other day. Steam rarely gets above 30MB/s for me. Can't complain though, a couple of years ago I could only dream about speeds like these...

PSN>>>>Switch.

PSN doesn't max my 60mbps connection unfortunately, and some days it can be really slow (despite being able to max my connection with other services). But Switch is really fucking slow even in comparison to PSN.

When I had a Xbox 360 it was really fast.

Steam and then PSN I guess.

100 Mbps fiber in Vancouver and I'm guessing I probably download from Cali for both.

Steam is the most consistent and usually maxes it out pretty closely. PSN usually more around 93 Mbps download but fluctuates around 85-95 Mbps. LAN makes a bit difference. Even with my router less within a foot, PS4 wi-fi usually only gets 55 Mbps.

Origin and Bnet maxes out my 100mbps connection.

Steam is needs some luck. It hits anywhere between 40-80mbps.

PSN is a complete joke. 8mbps on a good day. Of course, I can restart the connection so that it finds a good CDN (hits 40mbps), but as soon as that tiny chunk of file is done, it's slow again.

Steam >>> PSN >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Microsoft Store

Okay

I will ONLY agree to this madness if you include the stupid download restarts and other shit that happens with the Windows Store.

But for download speed in and of itself? Nah

(took me weeks to download Gears 4 because of this)

Steam comes close to maxing out my connection, but I don't have much of a "gaming PC". PSN on sleep mode downloads stuff relatively fast for me. Like a 50GB download would only take about 40 minutes on my 70 down/15 up speeds.
