NES - SMB, The Legend of Zelda. I loved Zelda. I was the first kid at my school to find the
in the
. I was loved.
SNES - Super Mario EFFING World!! This was the first console I got at launch (I was seven at the time), and I was sooooooo excited. I still remember walking through the mall with it, being careful not to slip on the foam as it seethed out of my mouth. I was an intense seven year old.
Gameboy - My mom surprised me with this, and bought Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins (or whatever) with it. I loved it a lot... But the first game that I was REALLY excited for, and would have wanted a GB for, was Link's Awakening. It's still my favorite 2D Zelda, babayyyyy.
N64 - On launch day for Super Mario 64. Sure as hell not for Pilotwings. zzzzz.
Playstation - Final Fantasy VII. It was my first RPG, and I didn't realize that equipable items were multi-use. Like, I thought you use them once in battle, and they're gone, like potions. I beat the entire game with the default weapons!
Gameboy Color - Just as a general upgrade from my original GB.
Gamecube - Wow. Good question. My first game was SSB:M, but I'm sure those early realistic Zelda demo vids had some sway.
Xbox - Halo 2. Fuck. Yeah.
Nintendo DS - Mario Kart DS, but I bought it before it came out and rocked some Kirby Canvas Curse. Love both those games!
Wii - Twilight Princess. Beat it, got bored with the system, sold it so I could help fund my purchase of a...
Xbox 360 - HALO 3. And GTA IV to a lesser extent.
IN THE FUTURE: I'll probably get a Wii again someday. Probably not for Mario Galaxy, definitely not for Smash Bros., but something, someday, has got to impress me. I'm hoping it'll be a real waggle-centric Zelda.
