You actually typed in the code to play?Typing games in from Computer & Video Games counts right - That took a couple of hours
Yeah several pages of data strings .I remember a semi decent breakout clone on the dragon 32You actually typed in the code to play?
Last Blade on Neo Geo CD always stood out to me. It's so much more tedious than a single long load screen.
Yes. Neo Geo CDZ. It does not help that game though.Holy crap… that takes the cake.
Did they ever do neo geo cd with faster loading?
There was a later model that reduced load times, yes.Holy crap… that takes the cake.

I was scanning the thread to make sure this was mentioned.None of these compete with soldiwr of fortune on the dreamcast
2 minutes of loading 30 second cut scene , 2 minutes of loading, 10 second cut scene 2 minutes of loading and so forth

Great game but yea I think this is the answer
Came here to mention this one, it was excruciating. They revealed years later that one of the tricks they did with the loading screens was occasionally they would put up the loading screen, then reboot the Xbox but paint over the startup logo with the loading screen, then essentially re-launch the game and re-load the area before finally taking you out of the loading screen and back into the game. It was a way for them to essentially clear the system's memory and keep the game running.Morrowind on the OG Xbox.
Every time you died or had to load a save it would take about a minute and a half to load.
Sonic 06 is infamous for this.

Deus Ex Invisible War would do this too, but they made the mistake of coding the PC version to do the same thing basically. Every time you enter a new level, it reboots the entire executable with a different launch parameter lol, so of course on PC it's extremely obvious, and that's also why that game is hard to get running on modern PC, because modern Windows doesn't like programs behaving like that, apparently.
I think shang tsung was toggable in MK for PS1.
If it counts, this has to be the winner. I remember wanting to show a friend what 4 was like but had to go through the install process again because I was loading Act 1 after progressing through the game. Which also meant I had to reinstall for the Act I was actually on later.MGS4 had to install and load in between chapters and I could outside for a smoke break, come back and it would still be loading. GTA 4 and Oblivion were also up there but not as bad as MGS 4.
