Atlus persona ones could look better.
I wanted to like Killer 7's but the animation was so janky and the characters were consistently off model. The in-game engine cutscenes always looked better
The frame rate for the footage was too low for me to call the best
Came here to say Guilty Gear. Dialogue looks good, but it shines when fighting. And story mode is just a long cut scene.I literally just finished FE Fates Revelations and I agree, the cut scenes were awesome especially considering you're basically watching it in a 240p resolution. Another I like if it counts are the Guilty Gear Xrd ones, simply magnificent, better animation then most anime out there imo
Agreed. That is a great scene from MH4, really shows off how lethally fast the monsters are, especially as Seregios fights like that vs hunters too. I love all the background ecology stuff, how Seregios is just insanely aggressive to the point of taking its own species to the brink of extinction, and taking on the much bigger raths for territory to the point where the raths just say 'Jesus wept, have it then!'I was actually thinking about Monster Hunter for this thread. The Azure Rathalos vs Seregios scene in particular. But as awesome as they are I don't think they beat Fire Emblem Fates.

... was it not 24?
Crack in Time had some super impressive pre-rendered 3D scenes for 2009 I thought.
Vandal Hearts had the absolute best animation.

I'm confused. Are we talking about 2D animated cutscenes or CGI? Or both?
Followup: Here's all the cutscenes in one handy video! This is super true.
Anything that isn't in game, so yeah both. Both I guess.
How no one did mention Final Fantasy series?
Gorgeous but I still think Fire Emblem Fates has a more appealing style.
Chrono Trigger for the DS/PS1 had some rad ones. Frog opening the way to Magus' castle stands out.
The Ghost in the Shell game on PS1 had some really nice ones.
