Heck, even famed comedian Dane Cook

shit's so funny, I remember seeing him for free at a second-rate public university here in Michigan and seeing him at Bennigan's afterwards. And now he's "famed" and all over HBO and people pay shittons of money to go see him in arenas...

He wasn't funny and then later it was discovered that he stole jokes.

That's the worst fucking part. With all the great comics out there, how can a joke thief not even be slightly funny?

Mencia even fails at stealing.

Mencia is good ... stop the hate.... he stole some jokes but not everything he says is stolen and plus half the time his delivery is better than the person who originally made it.

He's funny admit it. Funny doesn't depend on if you're original or not.
You could swap Mencia with Lil Bush and the hate would still be valid.

This post is automatically funnier than anything Mencia has ever had anything to do with.

I'd imagine it's a comedy duo consisting of Andrew Dice Clay and Gallagher.
Actually, if those two turned on each other (which they inevitably would), it could be quite entertaining.

He's not Mexican. He's half Honduran and half German. Not that there's anything wrong with that, in fact, with that background, he could have a wealth of interesting and unique material. What he does is pretend to be a Mexican when he's not, just to endear himself to the Mexicans on the West Coast, and as an excuse to rip on Mexicans.

What source are you looking at that says he's half German? Wiki and IMDB both site a Honduran father and Mexican mother. Unless of course you mean the rare genetic defect that causes 7% of Mexicans to be born German.

Who cares about his race and who cares whether or not he purportedly stole jokes? The only thing that matters is that HE IS PAINFULLY UNFUNNY.

Stole jokes yes, but I think there's also the matter of him throwing the Mexican card around everytime he tells a horribly unfunny racial joke. He says he's Mexican and does a skit on a Mexican stereotype, therefore every joke he's told about blacks, whites and asians are alright because he's Mexican.

yep.

The majority of his racial material (or shit...all material) uses his skin color as a foundation. Not only as a green light to say whatever. But also as a badge that he expects you respect him more for saying it. And if it's too fucked up. he'll twist it back to his own heritage, that btw i'm hardpressed to imagine that he gives a fuck about given his horrifyingly conservative views, to balance tensions.

He's half-Mexican isn't he? So what's the problem?

If he was actually funny, no one would care what the hell he wanted to call himself.

As the least funny comedian this side of Larry the Cable Guy and Jeff Foxworthy, I hope he fell into a deep dark pit and was forced to eat his own body fat to survive only to come out and realize everyone who ever loved him were the ones responsible for pushing him into the pit in the first place.

What a fucking hack.

this sounds like Joe Pesci's death in Casino. Me likes!

I really hate it when people try to excuse plagiarism by saying that the plagiarist improved on the original joke. What a load of shit.

I hate to broaden the arguement, but I always thought that if you find something entertaining, it okay to laugh. I find most professional comedians funny, I like to laugh. If Carlos (I know, not is real name) can't write his "own jokes" or won't hire someone to write them for him, that's his business.
Joke stealing is common among comedians, and only Joe Rogan seemed to want to make it personal. There was a video put out by Joe trying to prove Carlos steals jokes; he shows a clip of some white comedian I've never heard of telling a fairly ethnic joke, failing to deliver it properly, followed by a clip dated two years later of Carlos telling the same joke with better timing and the ethnic background to make it seem funnier. Stealing that joke, if it was really stolen, was the best thing for the joke itself. It seems that Joe is the one with the problem.

What about Carrot Top? And Ant who's been doing the same gay jokes for like 10 years now that also aren't his own.
I also have to avoid any single movie Dane Cook is in. The popularity he has is ridiculous.

RIP Mitch Hedberg.

*goes to watch some Jim Gaffigan to get rid of the horribly unfunny jokes running through my head*

Well, perhaps that is your viewpoint on things, but I disagree. Delivering the joke is part of the craft, but when you are damaging other people's livelihoods by stealing their shit, it sucks the funny straight out.

And Joe is the only one that's been public about it, or at least the most vocal. This is huge shit within the comedic community itself and a few comedians have stopped writing material altogether due to their fear of it being stolen.

This shit does have an impact.

Because he wasn't funny and he stole material.

I think I speak for everyone when I say, who?

If memory serves me correctly, that 4th Blue Collar Comedy guy that no one remembers or cares about. He got a show on TBS I believe and that was my exact reaction when the previews started.

That's Bill Engvall (probably the funniest of the Blue Collar guys; total shit but still lightyears ahead of Ron White, Foxworthy, and Larry The Cable Guy). Jeff Dunham is the ventriloquist with the cranky old-man puppet. I've never been a fan, personally.

Bah. Even I can't recall his name. I guess he's not stupid enough for redneck comedy compared to the other guys. I want to hurt everyone who still says "Git er dun" all the time. I remember Dunham now. A friend tried to get me to watch his special but I wasn't feeling it.

this is funny because of the modifier error in the first sentence :lol

It doesn't even matter if they're not telling their joke right; it's their joke to fuck up. Should I steal your books because you're not interpreting them correctly? Should I steal your clothes because you're clashing? Should I steal your car because you're not driving right? No matter how far up or down the scale of value, the logic just doesn't work.

Bill Evgvall is your favorite of the blue collar quartet? I think he's the worst. Ron White is a good comic while Foxworthy is the Ghallager of their group. Larry is his own shining pinnacle of crap. He is peerless in his achievement. Engvall is forgotten before he even walks off stage.

Jeff Dunham is the dude with this puppet.

I haven't seen him in 15 years but I liked him so he's cool in my book.

THats the part that pissed me off Cosby didn't use profanity, its what makes his jokes pleasant and not rough. He not only copied the joke but made it worse :(

He just recently had a new special on comedy central. Though I think his terrorist puppet sucked.

am I the only one that hates Joe Rogan? I can't stand the guy I don't care for his stand up, fear factor, or UFC commentary.
