What happened to the Nightmare Creatures remake?

Kalisto Entertainment went bankrupt in 2002, it had games published by several publishers, some by several publishers at the same time (depending on region).
I can't figure out who owns their IPs, but it appears that Activision had the license for Nightmare Creatures and let it expire (?!?) (don't know how, since they weren't the only publisher of the game), in 2017 someone grabbed the license (again - ?!?) and announced a remake:

But since then nothing else was heard (it didn't look very hot, but still, better than nothing).
Anyone knows anything else I might have missed? (cancelation, whatever).
 
I'd like to know more as well.
I also wanna know what happened to Biomutant, it was supposed to come out this year, but it's not happening.
Also that russian game that is similar to Bioshock. What happened to that?

I'd like a chance to experience the game in a modern style. The original was very interesting but hella janky, felt like playing a NES game in 3D.
 
I did a quick search and the Devs who making it is Albino Moose Games.
They published the well known horror he "Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion: HD Renovation".
Now I am 100% sure will make the game you mentioned.

It's a shame their games look like they were made in Minecraft....
 
Man I'd be so interested in a Nightmare Creatures remake. I only bought Bloodborne because the setting reminded me a bit of that game.

The original games even had great ads :)
 
I can offer information here. I messaged the developer through Facebook who pointed me to one of their Facebook updates that states the following:

"Hey everyone, it's been awhile. So here's an update:

-Spooky's DLC is currently being worked on.

-We have a big announcement in the coming weeks for something very huge that we have been working on and are very excited about.

-Those asking about Nightmare Creatures. No, we didn't lie. No, we didn't think the trademark was up for grabs when it wasn't. What's actually happening is that it's currently shelved until we can secure more funds for the scale of the game we want to make. Game development isn't cheap, it's not easy, and it's very time consuming. Nightmare Creatures is a passion project for us and so we don't want to rush the project or have any outside funding that can potential change our direction for the game. We currently have models, a story, storyboard, and have a prototype level halfway to completion. We ask that you be patient with us as we want the best interest for the game as you all do.

I know how they feel cause i spoke to Stuart from Just Add Water when they did the Oddworld remasters and New n Tasty and the finances sounded like living on a prayer.

Man, I had no idea this was something that was even planned! Unsure of how I missed that announcement. Thanks for the updates FF:Enhanced_Reality FF:Enhanced_Reality !

Here's to hoping this is something that can exist some day. I LOVED the first game, actually never got a chance to check out the sequel. :(
