Today, I:
- Stood up at 7 am. Usually on Sundays, I lie in bed until 1 pm or so.
- Had a 10-hour, 152 km biking trip (including pauses - 7 hours actually on the seat). Included climbing a mountain pass twice, from both sides. Both were Cat2-climbs, which means "really steep and quite long". This is my longest bike ride ever, and in some ways the objectively hardest, but I wasn't tired when I ended it. Could have gone on for much longer. My legs just worked like machines today, which was a great feeling.
- Stopped at a little, hidden-away local hotel that's been getting rave reviews the last couple of years. Bill Gates stayed there last year. They have the best views, and I've been interested in seeing it for a while. I was in the middle of my bike trip, sweaty, stinking and dirty, but they still let me sit in their garden with their guests and drink a cup of coffee. They even gave me a plate of home-made biscuits for free.
- Came home and did the final exam for a Coursera-course (Learning How to Learn), and aced it. That course is really good, by the way, and only four weeks long. Recommended to everybody - it's bound to show up again later.
- Made and ate a tasty evening meal. Waffles with strawberry marmalade, a bowl with oats, yoghurt, nuts, dried fruit and amazingly good fresh plums, a smoothie made with banana, melon and frozen cherries, and a cappuccino.
Best, most productive day in a long time. I feel just great right now.
