What if the FF7 remake is on iOS?

I'd have no problem with that, but knowing S-E, no effort would be put into it. Actually, I would expect the same low-res backgrounds, but with some terrible filter applied.

Would people pay full price for a high quality remake on iOS? Would it be worth it for SE to sell it for $15? (Talking about a proper remake, not some simple port.) TBH, I don't think it'd be a good idea for SE, but who knows.

Remake? Probably not. Port like the other games? I can see it. This would give SE the opportunity to throw in IAP! Want an All materia? Sure you do! Pay up.

I'd still probably buy and play this. FFVII on a mobile device would be really great for quick gaming spurts.

Is it likely that Square will put FFVII on iOS? Is it likely that "the" remake will be on iOS? No. Part of the reason why they haven't done it is because it's one title they'll hold to a very high standard and it will cost a lot of time/effort that they don't currently have to spare. There seems to be a ridiculous dichotomy within Square Enix. One that is willing to put out cheap terrible iOS/android games and ports for easy money. The other that holds certain games to ridiculous standards, resulting in remaking FFXIV and moving Versus to PS4 as FFXV.

Does it need "remake" on iOS' small screen? Original FF7 will look good enough on it!

Then duckroll would make a thread simply titled "Square-Enix Finally Announces Final Fantasy VII Remake!" and everyone would cry bloody murder.
I can't wait being duck-rolled lol

Can't wait for the vaseline screens and the terrible redone 16-bit pixel graphics.
Also, instead of doing quests to find Vincent and Yuffie, we will now have to purchase them.
Materia can be microtransactioned instead of finding them as well. Because who wants to go through all that extra work?
And Lightning will be in this game as well. You'll be given the choice to play as either her or Cloud when the train first arrives in Midgar.
$24.99 on mobile platforms... for FFVII Part 1.

I always thought a FF7 remake would happen on the 3DS/Vita. I easily envision the game with upgraded Gamecube/PS2 level assets. Not sure if Squenix is willing to take the graphics further than that.

I feel like the chances of that happening now is done. They remade parts of the game for Crisis Core, but that was years ago.

Some silly part of me expected a FF7 remake announcement at the Vita's unveiling in Japan. I thought it would be exactly like that PS3 demo except it would be a real game and running on the Vita. I don't know why I thought it would be an appropriately sized project for SE to put on a handheld while still having good production values.

Only chance for a remake is if SE feel they pass FF7 in terms of quality and sales.

If you want it to happen than every fan should buy as many copies as 15 as possible when it comes out.
