for like a collectors edition kind of thing I could see this. like how comic books used to sell special editions with special tin foil covers. limited numbers and particularly expensive, I'm sure fanboys would gobble them up.

I think the closest to this concept that I've seen is for the holographic art that was used for Xenosaga 3. Where if you tilted the case slightly, Kos-Mos would fade into T-elos.
