I'm 6'5" with a medium frame. Back in 2003 i was down to 228 pounds but still felt very overweight. I'm at 256 now and trying to get back on a diet. I can' tell however what my goal weight should be. I've read posts from people on other forums that were very skinny at 6'2" and 180 pounds.

What is a good weight for 6'5"?

P.S I don't trust ideal weight calculators I'd rather hear personal experiences from people near this height.

If you work out, then 215 would be a good goal to shoot for. If you don't and just want to not be fat, then aim for 195. I used the BMI chart to get an idea.

Realistically there is no certain weight for a certain height. All depends on muscle, body type, etc. Just get to a point where you don't look fat and then you can be satisfied. Work on gaining muscle and loosing fat. You'll drop some weight but you will also be gaining weight (muscle).

My workout schedule consists of:

100 crunches
Lift weights
Running 2-3 miles a day

I've been losing fat and gaining muscle and I'm 6'1 at 194 pounds.

195 would be pretty damned skinny at 6'5", Obama is 180 at 6'1" for example.

lol at 195. That's a decent weight for a 6'1" dude. At 6'5" 195 would look like a walking corpse.

225-235 is a reasonable goal

I'm 5'10 (180cm) and weigh 167 pound (76 kg) which is sliightly too much I think, will start training for the summer and turn part of that into muscles.

No, at 6'5 a 165 dude looks like a walking corpse. Trust me, I know a guy.

I think a person with an average build at 6'5 should be right about 200. That's average, as in not a UFC fighter or something.

who cares about the number. look at yourself in a mirror, and use that to gauge when you're satisfied. if you wanna be more anal about it use a tape measure.

I'm 6'6" and 194lbs. I am part of the vanguard of the zombie apocalypse.

If I were 5'10", my ideal weight would be 190 lbs with muscle and low body fat %. 167 is really skinny for your height.

No less than 225 I'd say. Easily 240.

But this is assuming you have proper body composition (ie working out and getting real muscle mass). Better to be skinny than a fat ass.

195 is a perfectly decent weight for a 6'5" guy who doesn't work out. Any higher and you'll start to get kind of heavy.

Ideally, you'd work out and get to 215.

I'm about 5'9" and only weigh 147lbs.

I really need to muscle up. :(

6'4 and 175 or so. i think if you're super-tall it's a good idea to be super-skinny too, so that the overall effect of being a biiig dude is reduced.

that said, i sure could use some muscle

that said, wii fit says i'm okay

I'm 6'4" and right now I'm at a lean 210.

When I was bulking I got to 223 lbs. I didn't look fat at all. Been on a diet since and have lost some flab.

I'd say a strong 220 is good enough.

wat

Man I started at 6'4 and 195, I would never go back.

That chart is what's wrong with our current ideas of nutrition. While two people may share a common height, their bodies could potentially be quite different. There's no way I could get to the weight listed on that chart and feel "healthy", I'd imagine the same is true for most thick people.

I'm 6'4" and was feeling/looking good at 190 and was ok up to 200 but anything more than that and I feel I appeared chubby.

Unfortunately I'm 250 now :(

6'4" @ 215 here. I'm out of shape sort of IMO. Once I get toned up, I'll be a cool 230. Seems ideal for my build.

That's the crux, don't have nearly as much muscles as I'd like. And probably have alot of body fat %
When I had muscles I weighed around 67 kg (147 pounds)

I'd say about 225 if you plan on having a decent amount of muscle and low fat. You can even weigh about 235 with about 13-14% BF and be very healthy.

I'd stay away from any charts when looking for validation. I'd concentrate on body fat percentage.

If it works for you then it's great. IF you don't work out, and IF your bone structure isn't extremely large (and most fat people have normal bone structure), then staying somewhere in the green (upper green preferably) is totally fine. If you do exercise, then heaving into 'overweight' territory is a good idea.

I'm also 6'5", but I have a large frame and I currently weigh about 208lbs (94Kgs).

I don't exercise much (commuting to/from work and being on my feet for 3-5 hours at work everyday) and I don't really think of myself being "in good shape" but I'm comfortable at this weight.

Tiny Japanese people over here still call me "fat" though.

*sigh*

I'm 6'5" and over the course of my life (at that height) I've been everywhere between 175 (undead look) to 315 (not gooood). If you don't work out, I would say 200 is a good place to be. If you do, then I would say 225.

Everyone has a different body though and a different comfort zone. Try to get around the above weights and see if they work for you and then adjust accordingly.

6'4 and 170, tried to put on some weight recently (got up to 185 working out) but my arms and frame remain skinny and I just get kinda skinny fat..

But there isn't some kinda formula or something, if your not sure ask a doctor.

I am 6 feet and around 125 pounds. My weight has never been a serious problem except while looking for jeans. Jeans are always way too wide and short for me. At least, I don't look like a skeleton. I am the strongest among the people I know even though I am very light; and I can do flying sidekicks too :D. I don't eat fast food, I avoid canned food as much as possible and I am very active.

You are definitely unhealthily underweight. Please eat more food. And you definitely look like a skeleton.

ha...bullshit.
That's ghastly thin for that height, especially with a medium build.

What? No it's not... people REALLY look at you like you're a freak.

I'm 6' 8", 285lbs and really comfortable with it. I'm a big, bulky guy with a lot of muscle (conveniently hidden by small layer of fat). I've been the 175-180 and I always felt sick and malnourished.

There's nothing wrong with being a biiiig dude. Women like it as opposed to dating skeletor.

Not really. I eat too much but my weight never increases. It is because of my body type and because I am very active as I said earlier. My cousin is slightly taller than me and has about the same body, but he is around 155 pounds. I think his bones are significantly heavier.

That's fucking gross.

I'm 6'5" and I weigh between 130-150. I can never top 150.

But I eat as much as I want, I'm not anorexic or anything. Hell, I smoke weed everyday and munch out like a motherfucker and yet not a lick of weight has been gained in 3 years.

No, there is no fucking way. 6 feet 125 lbs is unbelievably skinny. I'm surprised you're not dead.

I'm 6'3" and I weigh about 200.. And sometimes I think I'm skinny. Post a picture of yourself, I don't believe this.

Um dude, I'm 5'6 and 130lbs. I'm thin as a stick. Unless you're missing a few internal organs, how can you be 6'5" and 130lbs?

You do not eat too much. The only reason I can think of where you are actually eating enough and do not have a possible eating disorder is if you are hyperthyroidic, which is rare. Do you get the jitters a lot? Do you have problems sleeping? Fast heartbeat? Anxiety? Attention issues? Those are signs of hyperthyroidism.

I'm not ragging on you, I'm just a little concerned. Your weight isn't healthy, and you can damage yourself via undereating.

As for the 130-150 6'5" guy, same thing, only worse. Eat more, and possibly seek medical help. There's thin, and then they're so-thin-there's-something-wrong. EDIT: lbs or kg?

And I repeat, 195 for a 6'5" guy is an acceptable weight. It's definitely not on the heavier side, but it's not really thin either. For people of medium frame who do no exercise, the BMI chart is fairly good, though guys should stick to the high end of normal.
