What is Rare doing

You are surely will be blown up by it greatness.

Hahaha. Inadvertently hilarious statements aside, if a next-gen Rare game does this, I will give you all the bananas in Kong's Hoard.

Wait.

Oh.

Can we stop holding Rare on this old, dented, rusted pedestal?

The Rare that made those games is long gone and any other AAA studio in the world would have the same shot at making a successful sequel from any of their previous titles.

PDZ
Kameo
Banjo
Viva Pinata

And none of this games sold well. So, blame yourself for not supporting Rare, forcing them to make highly profiting Kinect games.
Sigh. I bought all of those games, including Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise. Know when that came out? Almost 7 years ago. As leads Rare has shipped 1 Kinect game since then. This rose-colored version of Rare that people elevate in their minds does not exist and hasn't for quite some time.

It makes me sad that MS doesn't give Rare the opportunity to shine on E3.
During watching Plants vs zombies garden warfare game play, I said wtf I saw some kameo elements in there ( like the plant character)

Yeah, I was pretty upset that the one Rare game announced was announced during a pre-show. It sounded like a lot of people completely missed it.

Sounds like you're saying that I should feel bad for not supporting a developer with mediocre/bad output. It's good I don't.

So now Viva Piñata(: TiP), B-K: N&B, Kameo, or even Kinect Sports are bad games? Apart from Perfect Dark Zero, and even that had great multiplayer at the time, none of their 360 games have been bad. Some of those are excellent. They were only doomed to fail because the audience wasn't there. Most people complaining about Rare's output this generation have not even bothered to give those games a chance. Some of them are up there with some of their best games from the N64 era. People should leave nostalgia aside when talking about Rare.

Having said that, I expect far more from Rare than keep on working on KS ad nauseam. We know there's at least another team that should be working on a next-gen core title. I would be happy man if that was either a new Viva Piñata, a new Banjo (either a classic platformer or a N&B sequels would do) or a new Kameo.

I also think it makes sense for MS to outsource classic Rare IP; after all they'd already been doing that with 4J Studios and their XBLA re-releases this gen. I only hope they make the right decisions when it comes to choosing suitable developers for each franchise.

Why even care what Rare is doing, they're a C-tier studio now. Nobody cares what Majesco is doing because it's just crap.

Well, there's Gamescom coming up in 2 months and it sounds like they were saving some stuff for that so maybe Rare shows up there?

MS said they have more games to announce at Gamescom, so perhaps we'll find out then.

They've had a massive recruitment drive over the past two years, so they're clearly cooking up something beyond Kinect Sports.
I had no idea there were Rare fans who were still deluding themselves like this.

They're working on the new Kinect Sports game and occasionally making suggestions on builds given to them from Double Helix's "Killer Instinct" reboot. :-P

Hope they make another Banjo game. Either a third platformer or a sequel to Nuts & Bolts (which is fantastic and beautiful).

I wish I had picked up a 360 closer to launch and purchased their games. They still put out games with interesting ideas and new takes on gameplay.

I think there is still quality at Rare. It is a shame their work sold so poorly.
