faygo black cherry over crushed ice will never do you wrong.

It's more off-brand than generic though. Generic is like the wild west.

Does RC count?

Mr. Pibb and RC Cola are not generic brands, just not as popular. I prefer Mr. Pibb to Dr Pepper and RC Cola is my favorite sugared cola.

I was at Wally the other day and remembered this thread. I am a Dr. Pepper man with some occasional Pepsi. I decided to buy a 12 pack of Sams Cola for $2.50.

Well I have to say it's pretty damn good. I poured it for some friends and told them it was Pepsi and they didn't even qiestion it.

Lol

Faygo Creme soda, mmmm

since when is jones considered generic

it's most certainly a specialty soda

Always seemed kinda generic to me and possibly the average consumer. But man they taste great. I really hope that company finds more success because I love their soda, as rarely as I have it.

Jones costs more than some name brands. OP is talking about that shit that costs like 60c a 2 liter.

Also, the best is Dr. Thunder btw. Wal-Mart brand Dr. Pepper.

I like the one from Kmart. Smart Sense Root Beer, is not better than AW by any means but it's serviceable. Twelve pack for 2-3 buts is not too shabby either.

"I had a Mr. Pibb, Mr. Pibb is a replica of Dr. Pepper... but it's the bullshit replica, cause dude didn't even get his degree."

Publix sodas are oddly spot on...

I'm not a big soda drinker these days (I'll have one every month or so), but I am surprised at the quality of Publix's store brand.

Was just gonna say this, it's pretty decent and only 99 cents for 2 liters.

i go with either Krogers Big K for the Diet Ginger Ale (their other diet drinks are good) or i get Walmarts Diet Cream Soda.

Man, I can't believe no one hast posted the king of generic sodas:

You can get it canned at Target. You're welcome.

This stuff is way more expensive than any major brand in Minnesota. For 4 12 oz bottles it's roughly the same cost as a 12 pack. It tastes way better than most other stuff, but I would hardly recommend it as a cheaper alternative.

Only thing I can think of that would be worth it for "cheaper but still good" is Mr. Pibb. Otherwise my policy for pop is the same as it is for alcohol: If I can't afford to drink what I want, then I won't be drinking it at all.
