What is the best Whiskey?

A liquor store around here once sold 750s of angelo lucchesi 90th birthday jack daniels for less than $20. Cheaper than regular jack daniels. Me and my friends stocked up and good times were had. The people selling it eventually figured out their mistake and doubled the price.

I saw a few bottles of Crown Royal Monarch at the store yesterday, anyone know if it's any good? I know Crown XR is good, never heard of Monarch before.

I'm the best Whiskey. Don't let ANYBODY convince you otherwise.

As far as other whiskeys you can drink (hhehehehe), you can't go wrong with some of the already listed brands like Maker's Mark, Bulleit Bourbon, and Bowmore. All three are exceptional whiskeys.

Go to bourbons:

This.

The Rye is great too.

I introduced my wife to Glenlivet just tonight. She drank my glass whle I wasn't looking... Makes me wonder if women can get Whiskey Dick?

Bourbon bros, Bourbon.

OP needs to specify if he's looking for Bourbon or whiskey.

Makes this Kentucky boy proud to see all this Bourbon though.

Love both Buffalo and Woodford

He just drank Jim Beam, which is a bourbon.

And he wants something where you can get good quality at a low price - also bourbon.

Bourbon is the only kind of whiskey that I truly love. Knob Creek is my current favorite, but I like a lot of them. Everything I would recommend has already been posted.

My personal favourite is Laphroaig Quarter Cask

Really smokey and strong. But SO good

How is this compared to the regular 10 year? I love that stuff to death but I never want to shell out the extra money to try the quarter cask.

OP, we need some more details. If you only want bourbon like jim beam, I can't really help you there. The only bourbon I like that hasn't been mentioned is a colorado local.

I like Jameson a lot. Jack Daniels has a place in my heart though. I'll drink JD and Jim Beam honey often enough too.

Crown XR is where it's at!

Picked up the Monarch a few days ago. Overall impression - wasn't bad at all. Not as smooth as the XR per say but it definitely has a bit more vanilla and caramel profile than the others. It's a nice substitute and pairs well with a typical mild cigar.

Ardbeg Uigeadail and Laphroaig quarter cask

Mine is running out.

Somewhat on the other end of the scale balvenie is sublime and smooth. In no way a peaty bomb like the pictured but outstanding. The double wood is great entry and the 21 is good lord what a drink

Edit: oh bourbon....

I bit a bottle of Blantons. That was really good

Just started drinking whiskey this year, been drinking bushmills original and black bush, the missus decided to treat me for an anniversary prezzie and so went out and got this:

Was told by the guy in the store it's hard to get outside of Ireland as they only make 500 cases per year. They make it in Middleton (same place as Jamesons) its a fantastic whiskey, really smooth.

Greenore 18 is really good if you want a smooth sweet one

Tullamore Dew Black 43 is good if you want something with a kick
