I've a hankering to play Quake 4.

I've still got an Xbox 360 and the Quake 4 game but on 360 the frame rates are terrible.

edit. I want to play with a joypad. I already Quake 4 on pc.

Is there even an emulator for this? Last time I was looking into 360 emulation it seemed there was some project, but it wasn't very far along development and had basically no compatibility.

Edit: Ah, it was Xenia.

Quake 4 doesn't launch on it.

I think Xenia is still the best public choice out there as far as I know.... Still don't think it's up to snuff.... IF you have hardware that can emulate a system pretty smoothly, you probably have the hardware to play the game natively pretty easily too. Quake 4 in this instance is pretty easy to run on any modern hardware I'd bet.

Quake 4 though can be had for like $15 on Steam, probably cheaper during holiday sales.

Seems to run okay.

Just learn how to use a KB&M. Its not that hard to learn. Besides, the native PC version should work better than an emulated 360 version on PC.

Xenia works OK for some games. If you want to play Diablo 3 offline with a controller, for instance. It's not really a perfect 360 emulator from my experience. The Gears & Halo games were quite janky.

At this point I think it'd be easier to use Steam to run a controller profile that you either mapped yourself or download a profile for Quake 4 than it would be trying to run the 360 version via emulator. Should be a relatively easy thing to do all things considered. I use my 360/One/Switch Pro controller wirelessly to my PC all the time when I want to use it.
