What is the greatest E3 moment ever? For me, it is this video...

GTA IV tattoo actually convinced me to go out and buy a console, probably the only time that's happened for me at e3, and bought it a day or two later.

Btw Have those 2015 Sony e3 games come out yet? I haven't kept up with the Ico creator one or ffvii.

Easily the FFVII Remake announcement.

Everything leading up to it came together perfectly, culminating in to the greatest reveal I have ever seen. The explosion of hype could probably be seen from orbit.

Truly the year if dreams.

I still enjoy going back to read the reveal thread. So much fun lol

Zelda: Twilight Princess the thread

But yeah, there's Shenmue 3.
Also, this guy represents Shenmue community:

(Also², I said that to him)

The FF7R is kinda weird to me

I mean it was basically an admission and acceptance that they'll never top that game again

To be fair, that excuse was just a fluff excuse last gen that someone at SE made up because the higher ups were not willing to invest in something like that at the time.

With Wada gone, the new President has been pushing hard at these kinds of things and resetting SE as a core gaming company that can tackle many projects, so that's one thing.

Next month TLG.
UC4 is out. Horizon in Feb.

FF7 remake announcement is probably the biggest and greatest. Definitely beats Twilight Princess one

Especially after all the build up. Remember when they showed a tech demo for PS3 a lot of years prior? lol then in E3 2014 they show the FF7...remaster (PS1 version)

FF7 remake moment was so good.

I also liked the PS4 god of war reveal. As soon as Kratos appeared on screen saying "I am hungry", the fans went crazy.

I'm pretty new to E3 so TLG, FFVII Remake and Kojima showing up on stage with something to show are my highlights. I feared he might just give up on game development. I'm glad he is working on something original that isn't Metal Gear Solid. About time.

Came in here expecting OP to be the peggle 2 announcement, disappointed :(

As for me, hypest was when they showed n64 and all the games, couldn't believe my eyes T_T

Hmm I'd have to say the announcement of The Last Guardian and then the reannouncement of TLG. I was there for both so it hit me extra hard. My second was the infamous Konami 2010 meltdown, I was there too to witness it go down.

I'd temper your expectations a bit. First, there's no telling when it'll be released. Second, you have no idea how much they're going to butcher your nostalgia. I have a feeling they're going to change a LOT, and all the people who are expecting the exact same game with current graphics are going to be hella pissed.

None of that has anything to do with the excitement of the actual announcement. I don't even have any hype or care for the actual game at all, but the concept of it actually getting announced and becoming a reality was pretty much fan-fiction.

For me not related to actual games, E3 Bear

Games/Conferences, it would have to be the reveal of Other M. It hyped the hell out of me, and no matter how the game turned out, the reveal was spectacular.

Final Fantasy VII Remake
The trolling from the prior year. The rumours that came about and the uncertainty that it would happen. The troll of Final Tantasy chibi game before the FFVII reveal. The trailer itself where you are still unsure if it is real until Cloud appears.

Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III back to back
The fact that this game you thought was dead returns and with some sick Gameplay that looks amazing.

God of War PS4
The orchestra music that starts off unfamiliar but then has a hint of God of WAR. Then you see Kratos with a bad ass beard ti only see the game has finally been rebooted in a way like the franchise really needed.

Sony has a done a good job with their reveals lately and I hope they continue this going forward. I'm excited for the PS Meeting coming Wednesday.

E3 2005 PS3 game reel.

It turned out to be bullshit, but at the time of watching, it was epicness incarnate. I still remember Jin Kazama's steam.

What's wrong with people getting excited for a remake for one of the best games of all time? Looking down at people with your "this fucking industry" comment isn't a good look.
Because they already played it. It's okay to be excited sure. But I happen to hate the rampant rehashing in this industry. I'm sorry that this is because other people love it.

As amazing as the Remake announcement was, for me it honestly wasn't even the greatest moment of that conference, let alone of E3 history. That honour goes to the re-reveal of The Last Guardian, and the masterful way Shawn Layden segued into it after babbling a load of meaningless buzzword-laden drivel for two minutes just prior. I still get goosebumps every time I hear him say...

"But let's get on with it. Our first game tonight has been loooong anticipated by the gaming community."

Chills.

The Shenmue III reveal was better too.

Big changes are being made in the remake, so they haven't already played it.

I happen to be completely fine with the remasters and remakes we get, what's wrong with it?

I follow E3 conferences live since it's streamed on internet, or at least since I know it's streamed on internet! So it was in 2002/2003 I guess (needed pay to watch it on Gamespot), and to me it's clearly the announcement of FFVIIR and Shemue 3. It was like unreal.

But to be fair, it's really easier to feel hype for a sequel or a remake, since you know what it comes from, you have an idea on what to expect so it pushes the hype a lot, but for a new IP, even if some will impress you, it'll never be the same.

Yeah definitely the VII Remake reveal. Watching that live stream was unreal. That trailer was utterly perfect for announcing the game.

Slowly showing recognizable features of Midgar, the Advent Children music, the vague but familiar narration, the eventual reveal of Barrett and Cloud, the FF7 logo and the display of a single word at the end.

'Remake'

As a fan it was utterly amazing.

The FFVII:Remake reactions in theaters are among the hypest i've ever seen in videogames. There's no topping that stuff.

So many years in the making, such a glorious, perfect reveal. The real fans knew what was going on once they heard the piano notes, but once you saw the first glimpse of Barret and Cloud, fucking hell broke loose.

Ya'll cant be hitting me with E3 moments like this only a few months after it's happened. The circle of mega-hype is just too small.

But yeah, FFVII Remake had me screaming. Game changed my life. Here's hoping they dont cock it up too bad.

Halo 2 reveal was insane. Halo 3 equally so. E3 2015 was obviously unreal for multiple reasons.

I would have a hard time choosing between Sony's E3 2015 and Nintendo's 2004 conference. The "games worth playing" intro gave me chills. Soo well done. Then the RE4 reveal... Holy crap. Then 45 minutes later, the Twilight Princess reveal. I don't know if this will ever be topped for me.

For me the FF7 Remake reveal is everything that is wrong with E3 in a nutshell. A CGI trailer for a game that is unlikely to see the light of day for another couple of years. It was revealed too early just to score some E3 points in a year when Sony didn't have a lot to show in terms of big exclusive games that were close to release.

Seemed really cynical to me, but I'm not really a FF fan in the first place so maybe I'm missing something.

I don't know if you guys are really young or just have bad memories, but the 2000 trailer for Metal Gear Solid 2 should be coming up more.
