What is the worst superhero game not named Superman 64?

Spiderman 3 was pure garbage, couldn't believe that's what they came up with after the fantastic Spiderman 2.

Spider-Man 2 is awful as well. It's got the (goat) swing mechanics and that's it and guess what? 3 has the same mechanics so I'd rather play that cuz it doesn't look like total ass.

I was gonna post Rise of the Imperfects but with the other posts in this thread im not gonna bother.
For a minute, I thought I had stumbled into the BEST superhero game thread ... Seriously, I love Marvel Nemesis and still play it.

Also wanted to hop in on the Superman chatter. Superman 64 is a bad game but not sure if it's the worst. It was like a poor version of Pilot Wings which wasn't all bad. Well, not the worst at least...

Glad to see someone step up for Atari 2600 Superman. Can test the eyes these days but it's a pretty enjoyable take on Superman for the time. Also have fondness for the NES Superman. Strange game but pretty neat all and all. Had the Krypton villains, too!

I also like Superman Returns on the PS2, although I agree with another poster that the game's repetition and limited focus were definite cons.

Which leads me to Superman Returns on the GBA. Wasn't this a puzzle game!? I haven't played it but I've only seen screens of the puzzles. Nothing says being Superman like matching Krypton gems. Maybe it's great though, I dunno ...

Spider-Man for the SNES is pretty awful. Maybe not the worst but it's the worst I've played, at least.

One of the worst LJN games too...which is an accomplishment for them.

Now THIS is grade-A certified shit. Most games in this thread are masterpieces compared to games like this and Superman for NES/Atari

Really is super classy boxart though. I like the little box with their heads in it, brings back a lot of memories of comics from that era.

Batman Returns (Amiga version)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Returns_(video_game)

The Amiga version of the game was a subject of considerable controversy. Gametek had, prior to the game's release, sent a number of screenshots derived from the PC title to market the game. As such, a number of computer magazines previewed the game as a direct conversion of the PC adventure.

The reality, however, was very different. The game was, contrary to expectations, not a conversion of the PC title, but a side-scrolling platform game akin to the console games. It was plagued with bugs, including very inaccurate collision detection.

The gaming press almost universally panned the game for the aforementioned bugs, for being near unplayable (with controls that rarely reacted in the way they should have done) together with poor graphics and sound – the game was given marks as low as 19% (CU Amiga). The belief that the Amiga version would be a conversion of the PC title may have been contributory to the disappointment and anger expressed by many magazines – reviews on modern retro gaming sites are, however, not generally so critical of the game, although few offer much praise.

ahhhhh

the Questprobe adventures were by Scott Adams who wrote some of the best text adventures in the day.The first one (Hulk) wasn't too good but the spiderman and fantastic four ones were pretty good by text adventure standards.
It's a pity he never finished them all-there was supposed to be another fantastic four and all the Questprobes were supposed to tie together.

The Captain America and Spiderman fighting game I had on the Amiga was utter shite. Never got past the second or third fight I don't think.

Probably down to the rubbish joystick I had though.

I could never get Thing out of the tar-pit in the very first bit of the game. It's probably really simple but I just never found the solution.

You had to hold your breath then swim down until you reached a mechanism that you had to smash that was pulling you down.

(that's if I remember correctly as it's been a FEW years....)

^ is that the one with the overlapping "panels" and you could get stuff like toilet paper as items? I remember borrowing it from a kid at school and being really underwhelmed. He said he could beat it, but kids say a lot of stuff.

I never understood what you had to do. Even as I watch a let's play video, I have no idea what is going on.
