the only 3 models i still have assembled. they're kinda dusty though since i don't really play with them

i wanted all the big space cruisers, but settled on having big technic sets instead...

wow I just realized those were what I wanted the most. the City sets. Police station, gas station, car wash, the thing with the car garage, and the racing pitstop set.

Man, I was so stupid why didn't I get those.

I was able to get my hands on this set. It was such a bitch to find. It's still in the box - and I really need to build it when I get the time. But it's definitely my favorite.

Ferrari Enzo

When I was a kid, I loved the Exploriens sets. This one was my favorite:

I loved the Aquanauts, Aquasharks, and the Hydronauts - too. :D

Oh man all these memories coming back to me. Pirate sets, Black Falcon sets, Robin Hood, Dragon Knights, City, Space, Blacktron, Mtron, those Ice Space sets, etc etc etc

I had the Imperial port set w/ ship, that was so awesome combined with my pirate set. Pirates invading the imperial port with their hijacked imperial ship.

So awesome.

Was also a cool little Imperial set.

Also was a big fan of the big Shell themed Parking Lot on the first page. And the red goods train. Always wanted that set with the big overhead goodscontaine crane, but never got it.

Good trains >> Passenger trains, btw. I used to have a big argue with my passenger train friend over this.

Wow I had that and so many others in this thread.

So many to choose they where all awesome. Though I think my favorite would be one of the Lego System Castle ones- I don't think its been posted. It was a more simple one, had a draw bridge and didn't have a plastic mountainish base- just two green lego sections.

Had dragons and....

Wait it is posted.

Had to much play time with this- that was when I had an imagination :(

This thing was so awesome.

I always wanted that one.

This was an awesome set. I think i still have the box somewhere.

Does anyone else kind of want to go spend way too much money on Lego now?

Thanks to this thread I just wasted like 2 hours in LDraw.
It was fun. One day I will buy the Ultimate Snowspeeder set.

Made using Blockland.
Holy cow, I forgot about that one. I think that one's definitely my favorite. The second one is that three cockpit blue-hued space supership.

I guess the alien ones came out after I got out of Lego. A shame because I would have loved those flying saucers.

Man, this thread brings back memories. I wanted so many of the ones listed here as a kid, but never did. :( They still look awesome today.

I think my fave of the lot was the airport.

Followed by the police and fire stations.

I messed around with LDraw as well. Even pieced together 6394. It was fun for a while but virtual LEGOs just aren't the same. I want my LEGOs to collect actual dust :(

Lights were also a big deal for me back in the day:

To this day it still holds up with all of its little chambers :D Though I lost the little vehicle that came with it:(

i grew up pretty poor so i didn't have any sets per se, just a lot of random shit. saying that i do recognize alot of these boxes from seeing them in shops/friends houses. i do remember getting an awesome pirate ship set for a christmas present from my grandparents once. the pirate and knight lego were always my favourite.

The one set that I remember well is Dragon Defender 6043.

I'm loving this Peeron site right now. So many memories. Although most of those memories involve looking longingly through the catalogues, seeing the many sets that I would never own.
Dragon Defender was the biggest set that I remember owning. I used to just pick up those 5-10 dollar ones where you got a car or whatever. Buy a bunch of them and you'd have loads of the standard bricks. I didn't need no instruction booklet to make a spaceship.

I suppose the Millenium falcon, which I bought just last year on a crazy whim:

Not my pic, I'm still building mine :) It was my New Years' resolution to finish it this year.

Thanks to this thread I went on eBay and bought my 8860 technics chassis. My wife will kill me (I promised no more Lego as we have tons) but I'm happy :D

YESSSS!!!!!

My brother and two cousins used to make lego movies and that little pizzeria was the center piece of a movie trilogy! The "Mad Pizza Jack" movies! Man, I really need to dig out that old VHS and upload it to YouTube and let some people see it.

The basic premise was about a mad bomber that escapes from jail on a crazy quest to blowup pizza joints. The general idea was that the guy was originally a rising star in the community until one day a pizza deliver truck nearly runs him over on his way to school. He was never that same after that... :lol

I remember some of the storyboards that we did for that film... Man, we had EPIC ideas for those movies. We had this whole scene in mind where Made Pizza Jack would go to a drive-in and blowup it up. He was watching Jurassic Park and when the T-Rex gave the final roar at the end of the film, Jack was going to throw a suitcase bomb into the screen. :lol

Pizza Bomb
Pizza Bomb 2: After Blow (Silly redundant movie that extended the original 8 min film to 35 mins)
Pizza Bomb 3: Time Bomb (Time traveling movie)

I had some awesome Power Rangers adventures with this. You could get the upper part loose and you'd had 2 ships. Good times.
Actually, I had this one too! :D I was too lazy to find a picture though :P

Good fucking times.

I have that police station! I spent hours having the criminal break out of the little jail in the back, and the cops forced to chase him in the helicopter and the Jeep. Love that set :D

I NEED THIS

Oh God, so do I. I have the first Millennium Falcon they made:

I couldn't post the first image result of it because it appears to be sitting on the bountiful racks of 2 women. I was very confused and aroused.

But the Ultimate Collector's version is sooooo cool.

I never owned any of the Town / City sets, except that I had some non-space 'Basic' sets that were Town, if that makes sense. I might be confused because I have almost zero knowledge of anything outside of the space themes. I know there's DUPLO, the very large blocks for very young children, and then a step beyond that is BASIC for kids. beyond BASIC are the TOWN/SPACE/CASTLE themes, and beyond that is Technic. Or that's as far as my limited understanding of non-space LEGO goes, lol.

My point is, now that I look at these Town/City sets, I want some of 'em :)

I gotta say the one with the polar bear and the snow vehicles. I put it all together and kept it on my desk and always got pissed when my friends would mess with it. ha

Heh, look at this, someone *actually* bothered to build the official LEGO-suggested, back-of-the-box ideas, and post pics to brickshelf.

It's NOT as easy as it looks to do that, I tried with 6927 All Terrain Vehicle, and failed badly. you only have one small picture per idea, to gleen clues/cues from. It involves a great idea of guess-work!

Aquanauts/Aquasharks! Of course. As well as the Western theme:

YOU STUCK THE DYNAMITE IN AND THE SIDE OF THE JAIL FUCKING EXPLODES.

That one as well as the huge ass fort set.

THIS THIS THIS THIS THIS!

This thread makes me remember how I wish I had the big ass sets. :(

my mom never really bought me actual legos. Until this bad boy, I guess she figured i could handle this one for my first lego set. I used to build it, then destroy it, then build it all over again in half the time, hahaha.

Used to love the big castles.
Then as I got older, I would spend hours making giant mechs of my own design.

oooh and the race track one was great too. I used to build cities for my micro machines. Man I wish I still had all those toys.

The family of 3 classic space ship designs of the 70s:

small: 918 Space Transport

medium 924/487 Space Cruiser

large 928/497 Galaxy Explorer

Unfortunately the ones that were my favorite were too big and expensive for my parents to afford.

I wanted the Black Knights' Castle SO MUCH when I was a youngin! There was a huge Lego display at a local toy store with the castle as a center piece and I used to go there and just marvel at its beauty.

6086-1.jpg

Looks like it had a town whore as well.:D

Holy crap. I owned that castle, worked real hard for it as a kid with some summer jobs. I used to decapitate heads of the prisoners with the gates, which you can control with a little rope and some other stuff, real awesome. :lol :lol

This is my 8865 Technic "Test Car", its one of my favourites of all time. I have recently stripped it down, clean all the pieces and rebuilt her. She's a beaut, and 21 years old!

Hell yeah.

What I remember about all of these was that they sort of ended up as multiple vehicles in one set, because the wing pods on the Blacktron thing could separate easily, the main Space Police ship could easily be split into three subsections, and the other set, of course, has the separate flying vehicle.

I used to do such awesome space opera type storylines when playing with these things. :lol

Haven't seen these guys posted. I had them with some pirate and castle stuff. I must of had an interesting storyline going on in my head. As a little kid you could make anything work.
